With the continuous improvement of people living standard, more and more families raised the dog, canine respiratory diseases continue to occur. Therefore, the demand for clinical diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease in dogs, with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the diagnosis and treatment also increased, and the current number and level of staffs engaged in clinical diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases were difficult to meet this growing demand,and this contradiction behaved more and more prominent. Simply relying on the training of professional staff clinical diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases was difficult to solve this problem in a short time, therefore, the development of canine respiratory disease diagnosis expert system(ES) with a level of experts should be an effective way to resolve this contradiction.We acquire knowledge from “Science of Dog Diseases”, “Dog Diseases Differential Diagnosis and Prevention”, “Diagnosis and Treatment Dog Diseases Practical Handbook”,“Internal Veterinary Science”, “Veterinary Clinical Diagnosis”, “Veterinary Infectious Diseases”,and other professional books and experienced experts access to relevant knowledge. In the knowledge representation aspect, the ES uses this method of production rules knowledge representation and knowledge stored in relational databases. And the establishment of different parts of the respiratory diagnostic knowledge base, comprising: a fact base, rule base, photo gallery,multimedia libraries. Reasoning strategy uses a hybrid reasoning and backward reasoning in two ways, mixing diagnostic mode is a user selects the symptoms, the system according to the symptoms reasoning and suspect illnesses feedback to the user, select further symptoms and gradually draw with the facts Conclusion of the process approaches, and the reverse process diagnosis is made directly based on the user diagnostic reasoning suspected disease. On this basis,the use of VB.NET development languages canine respiratory disease diagnosis ES.The research and development of canine respiratory system diagnosis ES achieve to diagnose he canine nose, larynx, trachea, bronchus, lung, chest, and other parts, especially in the original dog diseases diagnosis ES expert on the further realization differential diagnosis function for improving the veterinary clinical diagnosis of canine respiratory diseases have a certain role.
