Short-chains ketonic acid is the intermediate of animal metabolism, which has significant impact on growth performance in animal. Early research has shown that short-chains ketonic acid on 3-yellow, AA broilers and pig growth all have a certain role in promoting. Two experiments were conducted based on the previous research in this study; Experiment 1: t he test was to evaluate the effects of short-chains ketonic acid on growth performance and blood indexes in weaned piglets, and to determine optimum level of short-chains ketonic acid in weaned piglets diet; Experiment 2: the test was to evaluate the effec ts of short-chains ketonic acid on growth performance and blood indexes in finishing pigs of different time; these results would provide theoretical basis and application parameters for short-chains ketonic acid as feed additive applying to the animal production.Experiment 1 was performed to study the effects of short-chain ketonic acid on growth and serum indexes in weaned piglets.A total of 180 crossbred(Landrace×Yorkshire) pigs with similar body and health condition were assigned to 4 groups with 3 replicates per of 20 each with male and female evenly divided. The control group was fed with a basal diet, the experimental groups were fed with the basal diet supplemented with 0.3% and 0.4% short-chains ketonic acid. The experiment lasted for 50 days. The body weight were measured on day 1 and 50 respectively, calculate average daily gain, average daily feed intake and weight ratio of weaned piglets. By the end of the test, the blood samples were collected to measure the serum biochemical index. The results showed as follows:compared with the control group, the serum globulin and high density lipoprotein were increased in experimental group, the blood urea nitrogen was decreased in experimental group, and low density lipoprotein and total cholesterol of 0.4% group were significantly improved(P<0.05); The level of serum immunoglobulin was improved in experimental group( P>0.05). The results showed that short-chains ketonic acid had no significant effects on growth performance of weaned piglets. In conclusion, short-chains ketonic acid can improve weaned piglets serum index and immune index, and the optimal level is 0.4%.Experiment 2 was performed to study the effects of short-chain ketonic acid on growth performance and serum indexes in finishing pigs of different time.A total of 264 crossbred(Landrace×Yorkshire) pigs with similar body and health condition were assigned to 4 groups with 3 replicates per of 22 each with male and female percentage agreement. The control group was fed with a basal diet, the experimental groups were fed with the basal diet supplemented with 0.4% short-chains ketonic acid, added in 1days, 21 days, and 41 days respectively. The experiment lasted for 60 days. The body weight were measured on day 1 and 61 respectively, calculate average daily gain, average daily feed intake and weight ratio of weaned piglets. By the end of the test, the blood samples were collected to measure the serum biochemical index. The results showed as follows: compared with the control group, th e average daily gain were increased of experimental group, the average daily gain of 1, 21 and 41 days added group were improved by 9.61%(P>0.05), 10.13%(P>0.05) and 3.12%(P>0.05). In addition, compared with the control group, the serum albumin, high density lipoprotein cholesterol and free thyroid hormones had the trend of increasing in 1 and 21 days added group. In conclusion, dietary supplemented with short-chains ketonic acid could increase growth performance of finishing pigs and it’s can promote the secretion of thyroid hormone. Under this experimental condition, 21 d add group can reached the full period add growth effect, reduce the short-chains ketonic feeding time, this group is better than other groups.
