Research Of The Growth Rules For Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim Seedlings In Different Producing Areas

Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim is one of the most important economic trees in China.It has well developed lateral roots and a long history of cultivation,with strong conservation of water and soil.In recent years,the studies of Z.bungeanum focued on the volatiles, resistance, disease control, cultivation technique, the investigation of germplasm resources, etc.Many scholars explored Z.bungeanum widely,but rarely the report of growth rhythm.This paper carried out preliminary exploration on the growth rules of Z.bungeanum Maxim seedlings in different producing areas,in order to providing scientific bases for the seed breeding.The growth rhythms of one-year-old Z.planispinum seedlings were observed periodically.The growth curves of seedling height,ground diameter and number of leaflets were built with different equations,and selected regression equations in order to estimate growth parameters.The main research findings are as follows:1The growth indexes of 3 different producing areas Z.bungeanum Maxim were significantly effected with equation fitting.The correlation coefficient of regression equations varied from to 0.983 to 0.999(P<0.0001),and the fittting degree reached an extremely significant level. The fittting model could more accurately estimate the growing of height,ground diameter and number of leaflets of Z.bungeanum Maxim in differrnt producing areas.2 The height growth rhythm of seedlings could be divided into five periods:young-seedling stage, slow-growing stage,fast-growing stage,late-growing stage,dormancy stage). And the ground diameter growth rhythm of seedlings could be divided into four periods:young-seedling stage, slow-growing stage,fast-growing stage,late-growing stage.3Analysis of variance and multiple comparison showed the Z.bungeanum of 3 different producing areas varied in their seedling growth,with seedlings from Hancheng and Fengxian growing faster than that from Huajiang.In general the Z.bungeanum Maxim in Hancheng growed best in seedling height and the Z.bungeanum Maxim in Fengxian growed best in seedling ground diameter.Zanthoxylum planispinum var.dintanensis varied from other producing areas in seedling height,ground diameter and number of leaflets.
