In recent years, with the high speed development of economics, there is an increasing demand for cashmere wool, which result in higher cashmere products prices. Shanbei White Cashmere goat is one of the important economic resources of increasing farmers’ income in shaanbei region. Therefore, improving the meat production, reproductive rate and cashmere wool product yield and quality of Shanbei White Cashmere goat has become an important work at present. In order to explore new technology of increasing the cashmere wool production, it is found that short light can promote the growth of the cashmere wool growth based on the discovery that growth of the cashmere controlled by melatonin while melatonin is controlled by the light. Therefore, this experiment was conducted to study on the effect of light controlling on cashmere growth of Shanbei White Cashmere goat and the changing tendency of gas concentration under indoor-feeding condition.Exp 1: Effects of light controlling on body weight and cashmere growth of Shanbei White Cashmere goatA total of one hundred and thirty non-pregnant Shanbei White Cashmere goat ewes with similar aged 4-5 years old, weight and parity were selected and divided randomly into test group and control group. Ewes in test group were received controlled light period(09:30-16:30, natural light; 16:30-09:30 of next day, dark), while those in control group were with natural light. Ewes were free access to feed and water. The experiment lasted for 150 days from May 15, 2015 to October 15, 2015. The results showed that illumination condition had no significant influences on body weight of Shanbei White Cashmere goat(P>0.05), and the ADG of test group and control group was no significant difference(P>0.05). Controlling the illumination condition increased the whole yield of cashmere and hair of Shanbei White Cashmere goat, which might be caused by the increase in the length of cashmere wool(P<0.05).Exp 2: Effects of light controlling on indoor’s gas concentration of cashmere goat under indoor-feeding conditionA total of one hundred and thirty non-pregnant Shanbei White Cashmere goat ewes with similar aged 4-5 years old, weight and parity were selected and divided randomly into testgroup and control group. Ewes in test group were received controlled light period(09:30~16:30, natural light; 16:30~09:30 of next day, dark), while those in control group were with natural light. Ewes were free access to feed and water. The experiment was conducted from May 15, 2015 to September 22, 2015 and the gas concentrations of CO2, NH3 and CH4 were recorded on time. The data were analyzed and showed that in whole experimental stage, the concentrations of CO2 in test group did not change along with the change of season. The concentrations of CO2 could be calculated by the formulation y=0.28458x-0.30703 and y=0.04205ln(x)-0.02931 during 9:30~10:00 and 16:30~19:30 respectively. And the concentration of CO2 was detected as 0.20%±0.05% and 0.035%±0.005% during 19:30~09:30and 10:00~16:30 respectively. However, the concentrations of NH3 were changed with the change of seasons.Exp 3: Effect of different ventilation on indoor’s gas concentration of cashmere goat under light-controlling indoor-feeding conditionA total of one hundred and thirty non-pregnant Shanbei White Cashmere goat ewes with similar aged 4-5 years old, weight and parity were selected and divided randomly into test group and control group. Ewes in test group were received controlled light period(09:30~16:30, natural light; 16:30~09:30 of next day, dark) with different ventilation, while those in control group were with natural light and natural ventilation. The changing of gas concentrations was detected. The results showed that using mechanical ventilators could significantly reduce the concentrations of CO2, NH3 and CH4 in stable and keep the temperature in a suitable range under light-controlled conditions. Different seasons should have different appropriate ventilation quantity and the optimum ventilation during summer was 6000 m3/h.Based on the results of these experiments, it could be concluded that light-control technology could increase growth of cashmere in Shanbei White Cashmere goat. Under light-control conditions, different gas had different change rule. Under control-light condition, use mechanical to ventilate could effective reduce the concentration of harmful gas.
