Nobile-type Dendrobium is a kind of high ornamental value flower which has huge market potential with soilless culture. Sphagna is the most ordinary medium for Nobile-type Dendrobium which is expensive and limited in resources that can be perishable for Long-term using. Because of this reasons, commercialization of Nobile-type Dendrobium is restricted by high production costs, Low quality of products and limited in cultivated area. In this study, in order to find new-type medium to replace sphagna, the growth and development of Nobile-type Dendrobium were compared by using different medium which is coming from industry and agriculture waste and organic nitrogen nutrient solution. This study was to screen out efficient and environmentally friendly medium and nutrient solution aimed at replacing sphagna and reducing the mass production cost of Nobile-type Dendrobium. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) By measuring physical and chemical properties of sphagna, peat moss, leaf mould, not rotten pine bark, rotten pine bark, coco piece, camellia shell and peanut shell and the morphological of Nobile-type Dendrobium, we came to this conclusions with membership function:camellia shell, peat moss, rotten pine bark and peanut shell are better than sphagna as pure medium for Nobile-type Dendrobium. Camellia shell get 0.80, the highest score of comprehensive evaluation with 100% survival rate,16.27cm plant height,0.83cm diameter of pseudobulb,7.67 average number of leaves that these indexs are better than other medium. Leaf mould is not suitable to replace sphagna as soilless medium of Nobile-type Dendrobium.(2) The results show that the best medium mix under comprehensive evaluation of growth and development index was the ratio of 1:1:1 of camellia shell:sphagna:peat moss under the effect of the mixed medium the plant height was up to 16.82cm, the diameter of pseudobulb obtained 0.83cm, the leaf length and leaf width were reached 6.64cm and 1.76cm respectively that all these morphological index were better than the control of sphagna. The total chlorophyll content and root activity were both higher than control; An average number of opening flowers was 6.5 and more than control 3.5. Besides, the growth and development parameters of Nobile-type Dendrobium in another four medium was also better than the control (pure camellia shell, camellia shell: sphagna=1:1; camellia shell:peat moss=1:1; camellia shell:sphagna=1:1), and pure camellia shell rank only second to the best treatment. A brief analysis of costs also indicated that camellia shell as soilless medium for Nobile-type Dendrobium cultivation would have potential value for utilization both in the research and economic aspects.(3) With sphagna as medium, inorganic nitrogen and non-nitrogen as control, the effects of glycine and glutamic with different concentration on growth of Nobile-type Dendrobium were researched. The conclusions as below:Nobile-type Dendrobium can absorb and make use of amino acid as nitrogen source, and Low concentration organic nitrogen source of nutrient solution has certain promoting effect of Nobile-type Dendrobium such as the treatment of 5mmol/L glycine obtained the highest plant leaf soluble protein content,8.44mg/g which is significantly higher than other treatments. And the treatment of 5mmol/L glutamic obtained the highest plant height and diameter of pseudobulb,14.3cm,0.77cm which exceed other treatments. In addition, high concentration of organic nitrogen source of nutrient solution (15mmol/L of glycine and glutamic) can’t promote the growth and development of Nobile-type Dendrobium, and even has a certain inhibition effect on the growth; Organic nitrogen source of nutrient solution to the plant in vivo accumulation of soluble protein content are more advantages than inorganic nitrogen source nutrient solution; The plant height, diameter of pseudobulb, leaf chlorophyll content, soluble protein and total nitrogen content were increased with the amino acid concentration reducing in the nutrient solution of organic nitrogen source.(4) In order to screen out proper nutrient solution matching camellia shell the new type medium, water moss and camellia shell were used as the cultivation medium, and 4 kinds of nutrient solutions, inorganic nitrogen,2 kinds of single amino acid and compound amino acid to research the effects of different medium and nutrient solution on growth and development of Nobile-type Dendrobium. The results showed that the camellia shell combined with the traditional inorganic nitrogen nutrient solution treatment comprehensive evaluation index was highest,0.66, and Nobile-type Dendrobium growth is better than other treatment combinations. No matter in the medium of sphagna or camellia shell, compound amino acid as nitrogen source of nutrient solution has more obvious advantages than the single amino acid.
