The environment was polluted by industrial waste water discharging, pesticides irrigation, solid waste. Heavy metals pollution is the most serious. Heavy metals accumulation in roots, stems, leaves and seeds, not only impacting the growth of plants but also entering food chain, and thus doing harm to human’s health. Phytoremediation, a green environmental-protection technology, is able to remove heavy metals without damaging the environment. This article was conducted to research the uptake of lead (Pb), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn) and cadmium(Cd) from contaminated water using Bamboo willow. And it also studied the effect of plant growth regulators on heavy metals accumulation and distribution of bamboo willow. The main results were as follows:(1) Bamboo willow was testified had the ability to accumulate Pb, Cu, Zn while it could not absorb Cd. And bamboo willow can survived in Pb contaminated water up to 1500 mg/L, in Cu contaminated water up to 150 mg/L and in Zn contaminated water up to 600 mg/L. The content of heavy metal in bamboo willow was increased by the time and the rate of absorption was reduced. The absorption rate was decreased by the increasing of the concentration of treatment.(2) In tolerance range of bamboo willow absorb heavy metal, the bamboo willow which cultivated for six months accumulated heavy metal content tend to a stable value with the increase of treatment concentration. The stable value of Pb was 450mg, Cu was 130mg and Zn was 65mg-85mg. The heavy metal content in treatments of Pb and Cu increased while Zn changed little by the time.(3) The addition of plant growth regulators significantly accelerated bamboo willow to accumulate heavy metal. IBA was the most effective to Pb treatment while DA-6 did best to Cu and 6-BA to Zn. Compared to the control separately, Pb content in bamboo willow of IBA treatment was 2.03-fold, Cu content in bamboo willow of DA-6 treatment was 3.68-fold and Zn content in bamboo willow of 6-BA treatment was 1.63-fold.(4) Pb、Cu Zn were mostly in the roots of bamboo willow other than the stems and leaves, and the order is Roots> stems> leaves. And the content of heavy metal in the roots was Pb> Cu> Zn. By studying the influence on time to the distribution of Pb、Cu and Zn, we could draw conclusion that most Pb, Cu, Zn were retained in the roots under the situation of a month-water-culture. And it was possible that Zn not retained in the roots was transferred to the stems and leaves as the study went on.
