As the gradualy improvement of living standard of people, the demand of heath care product is growing, and ginseng has attracted more and more people’s attention. And recently many scholars have devoted to the research of ginseng, so the development of novel sower is in great urgency. Our research is mainly about the fine sowing process of ginseng seeds by studying the mechanical property of ginseng seeds, which is the premise and foundation of the ginseng-seeding process. So the study has great significance of theory and practice.The study was mainly on the theoretical and experimental investigation of hole-wheel seed-metering device of ginseng seeds. By exploring the relationship in the structure parameters, we carryed out simulation to seed-metering device.Then we confirm the fitting degree between the simulation and experiment to ensure the reasonability. The main contents include:1) The research of material properties. We take ginseng seeds cultivating in the northeast changbai mountains region as samples to study the various material properties of pregermination or not.We also provide theoretical foundation of parameter design of each part of seed-merering device by measuring the basic material properties of the ginseng seeds.2) The mechanical properties research was measured in seed mechanism properties test platform in the labotatory of agricultural machinety in Jilin Agricultural University. We conduct compression test in electronic universal test machine. And then study the influence of moisture content and loading rate on various evaluation indexes. Then we design shear test of ginseng seeds to gain the shear destruction force、the shear stress、hardness index and study the effection of moisture content and loading rate to various evaluation indexes.3) Using advanced modern technology and computer simulation technology analytical point of wheel structure parameters. Through the analysis of the images and data records, real metering work state of seeds into the hole in the process of transmission and uniformity of the seed, puts forward improvement of the performance of seed metering device, improve the work performance of design tools.
