In the paper, we use the Cornell Net Carbohydrate and Protein System and Near-infrared spectroscopy technology to evaluate the rape straw nutritional value. Total 125 rape straw samples were collected from different sites and their nutritive ingredients were analyzed. CNCPS model are used to calculate the carbohydrate and protein components; 100 rape straw samples are used to build near- infrared spectroscopy calibration models, the remaining 25 rape straw samples used for external validation. Experiment 1: Determination and analysis of nutrition ingredient content of rape strawTotal 125 rape straw samples were collected from different sites in Gansu province, Q inghai province, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, and their nutritive ingredients were analyzed. The result indicated that the changes of nutritive content of rape straw samples were as follows: DM 91.20%~96.39%, CP 2.06%~15.92, Ash 4.12%~12.46%, EE 0.27%~9.84%, NDF 50.51%~82.12%, ADF 39.76%~65.38%, NDIP 0.50%~2.10%, ADIP 0.19%~1.70%, ADL 6.73%~22.33%, SP 0.46%~10.17%, NPN 0.01%~6.04%, respectively. The changes of rape straw fodder CHO composition in CNCPS system were as fo llows: C HO 69.16%~92.07%, CC 16.16%~63.66%, CB2 11.23%~58.62%, CNSC 12.03%~43.00%, CA 12.03%~43.00%, respectively. The changes of rape straw fodder CP composition in CNCPS system were as follows: PA 0.01%~6.04%, PB1 0.01%~4.31%, PB2 0.07%~5.18%, PB3 0.01%~1.26%, PC 0.19%~1.70%, respectively. This study used a more advanced CNCPS system evaluation model which could evaluate the rape straw value more accurately from two aspects of protein and carbohydrates, and reflected the rape straw nutritional characteristics. Experiment 2: The near infrared prediction of rape straw nutrition components100 rape straw samples were used to build near- infrared spectroscopy calibration models, the changes of nutritive content of rape straw samples were as follows: DM 91.20%~96.39%, CP 2.06%~15.92%, NDF 50.51%~82.12%, ADF 41.44%~65.38%, Ash 4.12%~12.46%, EE 0.27%~9.84%, NDIP 0.50%~2.10%, ADIP 0.26%~1.70%, ADL 6.73%~22.33%, NPN 0.01%~6.04%, SP 0.46%~10.17%. 25 rape straw samples used for external validation, the changes of nutritive content of rape straw samples were as follows: DM 91.82%~95.92%, CP 2.62%~ 11.00%, NDF 54.55%~78.52%, ADF 39.76%~65.30%, Ash 4.91%~9.50%, EE 0.46%~6.06%, NDIP 0.67%~1.88%, ADIP 0.19%~1.29%, ADL 10.39%~18.92%, NPN 0.36%~4.59%, SP 0.64%~6.86%.The 1-VR value of rape straw nutrition indicator were as follows: DM 0.9120, CP 0.9908, NDF 0.9004, ADF 0.7098, EE 0.9742, Ash 0.9135, NDIP 0.4427, ADIP 0.6759, ADL 0.4582, NPN 0.9246, SP 0.9285. Besides N DIP, ADIP and ADL, the rest of the forecast of 1-VR are around 0.9. External validation RSQ values were 0.865, 0.970, 0.112, 0.477, 0.707, 0.471, 0.145, 0.367, 0.353, 0.645, 0.673, and external validation results showed that only the DM, CP two-parameter model reached to practical conditions, other indicators of poor usability of the model,, the model also needs to be further improved.
