Objective: The study aimed to detect the level of mitotic spindle apparatusantibody(MSA)and anti-centromere antibody (ACA) in patients with small cell lungcancer (SCLC), and to explore the correlation between SCLC and MSA or ACA.Method:Detect MSA in167cases with SCLC,381cases with other diseasesand60healthy donors, from the second affiliated hospital of Nanchang Universitybetween September2011to September2013by indirect immunofluorescence (IIF)with HEp-2cell or HEp-20-10cell as the substrate and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Detect ACA and anti-nuclear antibody(ANA) in thosepeople, by IIF with HEp-2cell. The results were retrospectively analyzed.Results①The positive rate of MSA and ACA was31.7%and28.1%respectively in cases with SCLC by the IIF with HEp-2cell as the matrix, and theywere significantly higher than that with other diseases and healthy donors, P<0.01,with statistical differences;②The positive rates of MSA was improved to37.1%bythe IIF with HEp-20-10cell as matrix in the cases with SCLC;③The averageconcentration of MSA was92.0pg/ml in cases with SCLC by quantitative ELISAmethod, significantly higher than that in other diseases patients or healthy donors, P <0.01, with significant differences;④To compare ELISA method and the IIFdetecting MSA in cases with SCLC, the consistency analysis kappa value was0.855by the IIF with HEp-2cell and with HEp-20-10cell, the consistency was very good;while the consistency of ELISA method and the IIF with HEp-2cell or withHEp-20-10cell was general; ELISA method was the best;⑤Series-parallel analysisshowed that MSA positive rate was as high as50.9%, while yuoden index was0.459by the two methods joint detection in cases with SCLC.⑥To compare the clinicalevaluation by the two methods for diagnosing SCLC, containing sensitivity, accuracyand negative predictive value ELISA method was better; while IIF method withHEp-20-10cell better in specificity, positive predictive value and positive likelihoodratio;⑦The positive rate of ANA in cases with SCLC or other diseases was higher than that in healthy donors.Conclusion there are many autoantibodies such as MSA、ACA and ANA in thepatients’ serum with SCLC. The positive rate of MSA or ACA is higher than that inthe others, and both of these antibodies may have correlation with SCLC. They maybe possible to become diagnostic serum markers and potential therapeutic targets ofSCLC.
