Objectives: To study the relationships among the TCM Syndromes ofhypertension patients with carotid atherosclerosis and the level ofAdiponectin, homocysteine, uric acid, triglyceride, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein–cholesterol, low density lipoprotein–cholesterol, insulin sensitivity index, body mass index, waist hip ratio, mean arterial pressure. Methods: It divided the100hypertension patients with carotidatherosclerosis into3TCM syndromes groups, such as the phlegm syndrome, the stasis syndrome, and the phlegm-blood stasis syndrome, and took30health persons with the comparable age and sex as the control group.Detected the relevant index values respectively, compared the case groupsand control group, and compared in pairs between the case groups.Results:1.The APN value of the case groups was lower than the controlgroup obviously(P <0.01), and the APN value of the phlegm-blood stasissyndrome was obviously lower than the other case groups(P <0.01),differences between the groups had statistical significance.2.There wasmore plaque in the phlegm-blood stasis syndrome group.3. The IMT valueand the APN value showed a negative correlation(r=-0.67,P=0.000).4. Thehomocysteine value and metabolic risk factors value of the case groupswere both higher than of the control group(P <0.01). And the homocysteinevalue of phlegm-blood stasis syndrome was obviously higher than that ofthe phlegm syndrome and the blood stasis syndrome(P <0.01), the metabolicrisk factors value of the phlegm-blood stasis syndrome was significantlyhigher than of the other case groups(P <0.01).5. MAP,BMI,WHR are higherobviously in the case groups than in the control group(P <0.01), and higherobviously in the phlegm-blood stasis syndrome than in the other casegroups as well(P <0.01).Conclusion: The anomalous change of the Adiponectin, homocysteine, metabolic risk factors, and the plaque formation of the hypertensionpatients with carotid atherosclerosis had certain correlation with theTCM syndrome types of hypertension carotid atherosclerosis, and thephlegm-blood stasis syndrome had the biggest index of deviation. It alsocan be the dialectical basis of TCM syndrome types of hypertension carotidatherosclerosis by the value of adiponectin, homocysteine, metabolic riskfactors, and the severity of carotid plaques.
