Objective: To study the effect of cutting vagus nerves on serous level of cytokines and pancreas pathomorphism with dog’s acute necrotizing pancreatitis.Methods:26male hybrid dogs, health, adult, were randomly divided into sham operation group (SG),ANP control group (CG) and ANP+vagus cut group (VG). ANP model was induced by the retrograde injection of5%sodium taurocholate and trypsin in the pancreatic duct; The serum levels of pancreatic amylase (AMY), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (HCRP), tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α),interleukin1β(IL-1β) and interleukin10(IL-10) were monitored at the different time-points after the operation, and then all the animals were sacrificed on postoperative day7, the pancreas were collected for the pathological examinations, and histologic score were assessed. The dead dogs in the experiment were recorded, and the causes of death were analyzed. The results of AMY、HCRP、TNF-α、IL-1β、IL-10weren’t recorded of the dead dogs in the experiment. Results: There was no significant difference between these three groups on the level of serum AMY、HCRP、TNF-α、IL-1βand IL-10before the operation (P>0.05). We found that the level of serum AMY、HCRP、TNF-a、IL-1βand IL-10were increased compared with SG after the success of the moulding. The levels of TNF-a and HCRP were significantly higher in VG than in the CG.(P=0.001).The levels of IL-1β was significantly higher in VG than in the CG.(P=0.022),and the level of IL-10was lower than CG(P=0.023). However, there was no significant difference between VG and CG in terms of the levels of serum AMY (P=0.158). Pancreatic pathology of SG was the normal pancreatic tissue, pancreatic histologic score of VG was significantly higher than CG(P=0.03). Two dogs of CG died in the experiment, four dogs of VG died, and no dog death occurred in SG.Conclusion1.Cutting the vagus nerves seems not to be related to the increase in the activity of AMY, and promoting in the release of HCRP.2. Cutting the vagus nerves seems to be related to the increase in the release of TNF-α、IL-1β, and restraining in the release of IL-10.3.Cutting vagus nerves could exacerbate the worsening of pancreas pathomorphism.4.The result implies an regulating role for the vagus nerve in the early stage of ANP. Cutting vagus nerves could exacerbate the development of ANP.
