Objective:To investigate serum25-hydroxy vitamin D(25-OH-D) levels and its relations to eosinophils, IgE and cellular immune-related indicators in children with asthma exacerbations.Methods:Serum25-OH-D,IgE and cellular immune levels were measured by ELISA, chemiluminescence and flow cytometry separately, in42children with asthma exacerbations and52healthy children. Logistic regression analysis and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the correlations between serum25-OH-D levels and immune-related markers in children with asthma. Results:The level of serum25-OH-D was significantly lower in children with asthma than that of healthy group (52.48±15.53vs89.72±41.38nmol/L p<0.05).Serum25-OH-D <50nmol/L was found in42.9%of the children with asthma. When vitamin D level increases by1nmol/L, the risk of asthma will decreased as0.948times of origin (95%CI:0.926to0.971).There were negative correlations between the level of serum25-OH-D and the number of asthma exacerbations in the previous year, the level of serum25-OH-D and age,but positive correlation between the level of serum25-OH-D and CD4/CD8. No correlations were found between the level of25-OH-D and eosinophils and IgE.Conclusion:The level of vitamin D was lower in the children with asthma exacerbations. The level of vitamin D was associated with the cellular immune-related markers. Increasing of the level of vitamin D may be a protect factor against the risk of asthma.
