Objective:To investigate the relationship between the expression of estrogen receptor (ER) and progestogen receptor (PR) and gender, age, size of tumor, lymph node metastasis of differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) patientsMethods:70cases of DTC patients, archived in2010-2012were selected (61cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma,9cases of thyroid follicular carcinoma),22cases of normal thyroid tissue near next to tumor tissue、46cases of nodular goiter and17cases of Thyroid adenoma. The expression of ER/PR was detected by using the immunohistochemical staining technique (SP method)Results:The positive rates of ER/PR in DTC thyroid tissue were21.4%(15/70),31.4%(22/70) respectively, whereas no expression of ER/PR in most cases of normal thyroid tissue、nodular goiter and Thyroid adenoma.(P<0.01). The expression of ER/PR in DTC might be related to lymph node metastasis (x2=16.913,6.327, P<0.05;x2=7.516,12.727, P<0.05, respectively). No relationship was founded between expression of ER/PR and gender, age, size of tumor, and histology type(P>0.05).Conclusion:The positive rate of ER/PR expression in DTC was higher than normal thyroid tissue、nodular goiter and Thyroid adenoma., which might be helpful in treatment of DTC in clinical practice.
