| Background:No company regulations lead the children in hospitalization to separation from they parents or caregivers. It gets them fear〠nervousness and some other negative moods, called separation anxiety. Almost all the children younger than6have severe separation reaction. The currently intervention methods can’t use in hospital convenience,because they high requirements for use situation and intervener. Sandplay can effectively help patients to vent negative emotions as well as relieve anxiety, and build trust and reliable relationship with therapist. So it is necessary to discuss the effect of the game on easing the separation anxiety of children in hospitalization who is unaccompanied.Objective:To examine the effects of sandplay on relieving the separation anxiety of children with congenital heart disease in hospitalisation but no unaccompanied.Method:Convenience sampling of60children aged3-4year (36-48months),with congenital heart disease and in hospitalization unaccompanied. Intervention group (n=30) got sandplay therapy for30-40minutes once a day after hospital admission (not carried out on those who can’t get out of bed after surgery), and the control group (n=30) was only usual care. The self-made observation record chart of separation anxiety was used to evaluate the separation anxiety.Results:(1) Aggregate separation anxiety average scores a day and three periods of free time without external environmental stimulation of children in intervention group is significantly lower than control group (P<0.05). And no significant difference at lunch time,nap time and supper time.(P>0.05).(2)Aggregate separation anxiety scores a day and scores in periods of free time (8:00-8:20) of children in intervention group is lower than control group on the3rd,4th,5th,6th day after surgery(P<0.05).(3)Separation anxiety scores in10:00-10:20and15:00-15:20of children in intervention group is lower than control group on the3rd day after surgery (P<0.05). But no significant difference between them on the5thã€6th day (P>0.05)Conclusion:Sandplay could relieve separation anxiety of children in hospitalization who are unaccompanied effectively. The effects mainly reflected in and free time, but there were no significant effects in lunch time, nap time and supper time. |
