This thesis is comprised of three chapters. The chemical constituents of the rattanof Uncaria sessilifructusRoxb., and the whole plant of Huperzia crispate Ching,were isolated. Detailed description of compounds isolation and determination werewritten clearly in chapters one and two, including all structures physical andchemical data. Chapter three is a mini review of lycopodium alkaloids and theirbioactivity in Huperzia plants.The chemical components were separated by many chromatographic methods,such as column chromatography, MPLC, HPLC, and gel chromatography. Thestructures were established by NMR, MS, UV, IR and X-ray diffraction. A total of20compounds were isolated from Uncaria sessilifructus Roxb., which mainlypentacyclic triterpenoid, of which one new structure. Another15compounds weregot from Huperzia. Crispate Ching, of which12structures have been confirmed.These determined components, including two new ones, are mainly lycopodine,lycodine and phlegmarine alkaloids.The mini review introduced recent research of lycopodium alkaloids. Theprogress of four main nucleus types, their structure and NMR data characters weresummarized briefly. The bioactivity of lycopodium alkaloids in anti-senile dementiaand anti-apoptosis were also metioned.
