Part I:The observation of the subfoveal choroidal thickness in diabetic macular edemaPurpose:Observed in patients with diabetic macular edema, measured the subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT), compared them with the mean SFCT in normal people, aimed to know whether there is a difference. After2weeks of intravitreal injection of the ranibizumab measured the SFCT again, aiming to know whether the SFCT changed. To assess the Diabetic choroidretinopathy and how the drug of anti-VEGF affect it.Methods:1.According to the standard, the group of diabetic macular edema have15people16eyes (the group of DME), then selected15normal people (16eyes) with matched age, sex ratio and degree of diopter as control group (normal group), then measured their SFCT.2.Using the Enhanced depth imaging (EDI)-OCT to measure the average SFCT of DME group before treatment and normal group.3.DME eyes were given intravitreal injection of0.5mg ranibizumab, after two weeks, measured the average SFCT, compared it with the average SFCT of before treatment, analyzed whether there is a difference.4.Using the social science statistical package SPSS version20.0for data statistics.Results:1.The average SFCT was242.38±22.02μm before treatment in DME group,298.12±21.34μm in normal group.Compared the two datas by two samples t-test, the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).2.After2weeks of intravitreal injection of ranibizμmab in DME groμp, The average SFCT was245.06±23.08μm, Compared With average SFCT before treatment by using wilcoxon signed rank test, there was no statistically significant difference(a>0.05).Conclusions:1.Patients with diabetic macular edema have a change in the choroid, the subfoveal choroidal thickness was thinner than normal.2.After intravitreal injection of anti-VEGF drugs, whether there is a influence on the SFCT in eyes with DME is still to be further discussed. Part Ⅱ:The observation of the subfoveal choroidal thickness in macular edema caused by retinal vein occlusionObjective:To assess changes in subfoveal choroidal thickness in macular edema caused by retinal vein occlusion and after intravitreal injection of ranibizumab by using enhanced-depth imaging spectral domain optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT).Methods:1. In the study,we included20patients20eyes(macular edema caused by RVO), there are15CRVO cases and5BRVO cases. The fellow eyes were regarded as control group.2.We measured the bilateral subfoveal choroidal thickness in20patients by using the enhanced depth imaging methods of the Spectralis optical coherence tomography system.3. RVO eyes were treated with intravitreal ranibizumab (0.5mg), and subfoveal thickness was measured after two weeks.Statistical analysis was performed to compare subfoveal choroidal thickness of RVO and fellow eyes and to compare subfoveal choroidal thickness before and after treatment.4.Using the social science statistical package SPSS version20.0for data statistics.Results:l.The average SFCT measured in20RVO eyes was325.95±33.90μm, which was significantly greater than that in fellow eyes (256.10±21.08μm; P<0.05, paired t-test).2.After2weeks of intravitreal ranibizumab in RVO eyes, The average SFCT was300.40±29.52μm, Compared With average SFCT before treatment by using wilcoxon signed rank test, there was statistically significant difference(p<0.05).3.There was strong correlation between RVO eyes and fellow eyes (r=0.88,P<0.05).Conclusions:1.Patients of RVO with macular edema have a change in the choroid, the subfoveal choroidal thickness was greater than fellow normal eyes.2. After intravitreal ranibizumab, the mean SFCT was decreased significantly. The anti-VEGF might have an effect on the choroid, But it is still not certain that the change is related to the anti VEGF drugs entirely.
