Study On The Self-efficacy And Its Influencing Factors Of Patients With Enterostomy In A Hospital

Objective:To investigate all the colostomy patients within a year in a tertiary hospital (The Third Hospital of Xiangya) in Changsha and to describe the level and explore the influencing factors of self-efficacy of patients with enterostomy.Methods:Cross-sectional study was adopted.A total of of115selected patients with enterostomy who return to hospital for postoperative check were investigated using self-designed questionnaire, which included general information and colostomy related background information. Stoma Self-Efficacy Scale was administered to evaluate the colostomy related self-efficacy.Results:1. The total scores of self-efficacy was68.1±12.68The scores of colostomy care effectiveness were41.3±8.17and the scores of social effectiveness of and14.8±2.03; The socres of the six items:the score of sexual performance (1.31±0.47) was the lowest item of the six independence items, while the score of colostomy self-care effectiveness(3.09±0.61points) was the highset.2. There were44patients (40.0%) in the effectiveness of "inefficient" level and66patients (60.0%) were in the effectiveness of "moderate" level. No patients was in the effectiveness of "high"level.3. Patients’work for switching or unwilling to work again after the surgery, the period of implementation of colostomy surgery until now as" within a month", patients with no preoperative colostomy location and evaluation the role of colostomy therapists generally were risk factors of self-efficacy scores patients with enterostomy.Conclusions:1. The total scores of self-efficacy was68.1±12.68.60.0%patients were in the effectiveness of "moderate" level (66～102), the rest was in the low level (≤65pionts)2. patients with preoperative colostomy location, the period of implementation of colostomy surgery until now, the situation of patients "work after colostomy surgery, and the evaluation the role of colostomy therapists were the influencing factors of the self-efficacy of patients with enterostomy. The self-efficacy scores of patients with preoperative colostomy location, the period of implementation of colostomy surgery until now as" above a month", patients work for going on, and evaluation the role of colostomy therapists good were higher than those patients who not.
