Clinical Study On Treating Diarrhea Due To Food Damage In Children By Massage Therapy And Umbilical Sticking With Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Particles

Objective:To identify the feasibility and effectiveness of treating children with diarrhea due to food damage by the massage therapy and umbilical sticking with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) particles, so as to guide the clinical treatment.Method:60children with diarrhea due to food damage were selected and were divided in two groups.For the treatment group,30cases were treating by the massage therapy and umbilical sticking with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) particles;for the control group,30cases were treating by smecta and siliankang,both of two groups were given symptomatic treatment according to the requirement of Patient’s condition.To quantify the main symptoms (stool frequency, stool texture, the odor and character of stool,the amount of stool) and secondary symptoms (abdominal distention and pain,vomiting,belching,spirit,appetite,thirst,urine output,tongue and fingerprint) scores,and record of integral change before and after the treatment,take the test results to statistical analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment.Results:In the treatment group,27cases were cured,3cases were excellent;in the the control group,16cases were cured,9cases were excellent,5cases were improved,the difference of the comprehensive efficacy in two group was statistically significant(P<0.01),and the treatment group was better than control group;in the improvement of main symptoms,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),the treatment group was better than control group;in the improvement of secondary symptoms,such as abdominal distention and pain,belching,appetite,tongue and fingerprint,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),the treatment group was better than control group;for the improvement of vomiting,spirit,thirst and urine output,the treatment group and control group were not statistically significant (P>0.05).Conclusion:The massage therapy and umbilical sticking with Traditional Chinese Medicine particles have an affirmative effect on treating children with diarrhea due to food damage,and compared with the control group,the treatment group has better effectiveness of the comprehensive efficacy.
