Pancreatic cancer is a frequent digestive tract malignant tumor withthe feature of short pathogenesis, fast progression and bad prognosis. Theincidence of PC is rising with each passing year, and early diagnosis is sohard. The only therapy is radical operation. But most patients diagnosedhave lost the opportunity of surgery and have to choose other therapies.The common therapies include palliative shunt operation, interventionaltherapy, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and biotherapy etc. Chemotherapy isan effective general way of those adjunctive therapies, but does not show asatisfactory result only. But there’s no standard for pancreatic cancer, andthe current chemotherapeutics is not enough and serious side effect thatsome patients even can’t bear. HIFU is a non-invasive therapeutic methodand widely used in tumor in recent years. HIFU combined chemotherapy iss new direction in tumor therapy. This article discusses the researchprogress of HIFU combined with chemotherapy in treatment of theadvanced stage pancreatic cancer to present a new combined modalitytherapy, which is safer and more effective, and recommend a reasonabletreatment protocols.
