Objective To understanding the dietary and nutritional status of HIV/AIDS patients in Xinjiang, Collect baseline data for the further intervention research, to implement nutrition intervention for HIV/AIDS patients, Preliminary discussion the nutrition interventions impact on HIV/AIDS patient’s symptoms and signs, immune function, blood biochemical indexes and to evaluate its efficacy. Methods1. Dietary survey:Select130cases of HIV/AIDS patients who received antiviral treatment and follow-up in March2013to November in Urumqi and YiLiZhou for baseline survey. use the method of24hour dietary retrospective, Self-designed questionnaire for the patients general situation, dietary intake and living habits, etc. According to the conventional method measuring height, weight, respectively.2. Nutrition interventi-on:Use Between groups before and after comparing method Divided the patients into intervention group and control group, The intervention group were given ALDOS nutrient on the basis of antiviral drugs for3months. The control group by conventional antiviral treatment. Respectively checked two groups of patients Signs and symptoms before the intervention and post-intervention. Collected blood samples from patients, to detect liver and kidney function, CD4+cell counts and viral load. Results1. Dietary survey results:The patient’s overall nutrition levels below the national average urban and rural residents, Energy intake2053kcal (8589KJ), Protein, fat, carbohydrate intake is55.5g、46.6g、302.3g respectively, Riboflavin, retinol, iron, vitamin A, vitamin C intake level is Accounted56.6%、49.3%、53.1%of the recommended intake. Smoking, drinkers accounted for37.5%and8.55%of the total number, only9.5%of the number of patients take part in physical exercise every day. 2. Nutritional intervention results:After taking nutrition intervention group patients fatigue, poor appetite, fever, cough, vomiting, shortness of breath, headache, joint pain and other symptoms significantly better than previous intervention, A statistically significant difference(P<0.05). Signs such as rashes, mucosal ulcer also improved then before, A statistically significant difference(P<0.05). The patients Weight, BMI, nutrition indicators vary increases compared to pre-intervention. A statistically significant difference(P<0.05). ALT\GGT\UA levels Significantly decreased. A statistically significant difference(P<0.05). CD4+T lymphocytes were significantly increases than before the intervention, A statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Before the intervention viral load difference between the two groups has no statistical significance(P>0.05), Viral load falling number increases slightly after intervention, but there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05) Conclusion The patients Inadequate food intake in this survey, Dietary structure is irrational, Eating disorders. Long-term eating habits in a short time is difficult to fundamentally change. Therefore, behavior modification and nutrition intervention is a important measures must be taken. Nutritional intervention can improve the nutritional status of HIV/AIDS patients. Reduce the side effects of antiviral drugs and no adverse reactions, Improve the therapeutic efficacy of drugs, fill the gap if the patients food intakes does not satisfy the body needs.
