Aim Build a county-level hospitals head nurse competency model. On this basis, explore the construction of curriculum for head nurses in county hospitals and evaluate the effect of the curriculum.Methods A Competency model building method will be used for reference. The competence character element will be extracted through BEI method, survey investigation. Later on, the importance analysis and factor analysis will be used to build and test the model. In-depth analysis of role definition and occupational attributes will be implemented based on the reviews of the current cultivation and development of domestic head nurses in county hospitals. The curriculum for head nurses in county hospitals will be set accordingly. The effect of the curriculum will be evaluated next.Results Build a county-level hospitals head nurse competency model including5characteristics categories and15competency features. Characteristics categories are as follows:action features group, management features group, self-efficacy group, influence features group, cognitive features group. Competency features are as follows:service consciousness, professional dedication, passion, focus on quality and order. On this basis, sets up the curriculum for head nurse in county-level hospitals. The course includes curriculum concept, goal, content, training methods, training time, training management and evaluation.Conclusion Training curriculum based on the competency model, more scientific, operable and practical, is set according to the Training need analysis and performance criteria of head nurses in county hospitals. Training hours, goals and contents covers all the needed competence, meet the post characters and requirements for head nurses in county hospitals. The sound training system, standardized procedure and creative cultivation mode will guarantee the training effect, help healthy development of head nurses in county hospitals in their future careers, provide beneficial discuss and reference to build adapted training mode for nursing administrators in primary hospitals.7figures,23tables,63references.
