Experimental Study On The Effects Of Tongfuliqi Decoction On Intestinal Peristalsis Function In Mice

Objective:To investigate the effects of Tongfuliqi decoction on small intestine movement in vitro and in vivo.Methods:Effect of Tongfuliqi decoction on the rate of small intestine facilitation in normal mice in vivo was observed, and effects of Tongfuliqi decoction on the first defecation time and defecation quantity in normal mice and constipation mice induced by diphenoxylate in vivo were also observed. We observed and effects of Tongfuliqi decoction on contraction frequency and contraction tension in normal colon and excited colon by Ach, as well as ileum and excited ileum by Ach in vitro.Results:Tongfuliqi decoction could elevate the rate of small intestine facilitation in normal mice comparing with normal mice(*p<0.1). Tongfuliqi decoction could shorten the defecation time (*p<0.05) and increase the amount of stool (**p<0.01) comparing with model mice and it had a trend of shortening the defecation time in normal mice at doses of20g/Kg. Tongfuliqi decoction could decrease contraction frequency and contraction tension in normal colon in vitro comparing with normal colon (**p<0.01), Tongfuliqi decoction could also decrease contraction frequency and contraction tension in excited colon by Ach in vitro comparing with excited colon by Ach(**p<0.01). Tongfuliqi decoction could decrease contraction frequency and contraction tension in excited ileum by Ach in vitro comparing with excited ileum by Ach(**p<0.01).Conclusions:Tongfuliqi decoction can ffectively strengthen the peristalsis of small intestine and colon, which also can accelerated defecation, so we can use it to promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function in patients after abdominal surgery. Tongfuliqi decoction can decrease the contraction of colon and ileum, as well as excited colon and ileum by Ach in vitro. It may be the result of lack of nerves and body fluid. Besides, qi-regulating drugs have two-ways regulation on gastrointestinal motility.
