Objective:Research the Comprehensive treatment of the sudden deafness.Study the prognostic factors of SSNHL, Make an outcome predication.Method:384cases (418ears) with SSNHL from January2006to June2011were reviewed retrospectively. All of them were treated for sudden deafnessduring5years in the Otolaryngology Department, Gansu Provincial Hospital. Thefactors were analyzed with Logistic regression and t-test of17.0SPSS.Results: With increasing age, the prognosis became significantly worse. Thesooner the treatment began, the higher was the restoration ratio. The prognosis wassignificantly worse with tinnitus and/or vertigo symptoms than without.Thehearing loss degree of first diagnosis and the curative effect was not a simplelinear relationship; the moderate hearing loss before treatment was better thanothers. On the contrary, profound hearing loss had the worst prognosis. Withhearing threshold added, the total restoration ratio went down. Conclusions: The prognosis of SSNHL was related to age, the duration ofsymptoms before treatment, whether or not with tinnitus or/and vertigo, degree ofhearing loss, the type of first visit audiogram.
