| Objective: To explore the relationship between the level of Red Cell Distribution Width(RDW) and the severity of coronary artery lesions in the population of Cangzhou.Methods: A total of 1014 cases admitted between January 2014 and January 2015 in Cangzhou Central Hospital and Cangzhou People’s Hospital,were proformed coronary angiography(CAG) for suspected or confirmed coronary heart disease. Detailed data including age, sex, history of smoking, hypertension and diabetes mellitus,the value of RDW and coronary angiography were document according to angiography vessel number counts, site and severity of vascular stenosis.Gensini score was used to quantitatively evaluate the degree of coronary artery stenosis. And on the basis of patients score, the results were divided into groupâ… (0-25); groupâ…¡(26-50);groupâ…¢(51-90) and groupâ…£(>90).Then the difference of the RDW levels between the four groups were compared to evaluate the relation between RDW and coronary artery lesion severity in the region.According to the affected vessel number, patients were divided into 5 groups: the negative group, the single vessels lesion group, the double vessel lesion group, the three vessel lesion group and the LM(Left main coronary artery) group to compare the difference of the RDW level and further evaluate of the correlation between RDW and coronary artery lesion severity. Statistical analysis was carried out with SPSS19.0 software.Results: 1 RDW increased with the gradual rise of Gensini score. The RDW of Groupâ…¡ was higher than that of Groupâ… .The RDW of Group â…¢ was higher than that of Group â… . These differences have statistical significance(P<0.01). There is no significant difference in RDW between Groupâ…¡and Groupâ…¢, between Groupâ…¡and Groupâ…£, or between Groupâ…¢ and Groupâ…£. The statistical significance has not been found(P>0.05). There was a positive correlation between the RDW and Gensini score(r=0.136, P>0.05).2 Compared with RDW of the negative group, the single vessel lesion group, the double vessel lesion group, the three vessel lesion group, the LM groups are statistically significant(P<0.01). The RDW of the double vessel lesion group, the three vessel lesion group, LM lesion group were higher than that of single vessel lesion group.These differences have statistical significance(P<0.01). There is no significant difference among the double vessel lesion group, the three vessel lesion group and the LM lesion group. The statistical significance was not found(P>0.05).Conclusions:RDW is related to the severity of coronary artery lesions in the population of Cangzhou. |
