Objective: To explore the regulation of rennin- angiotensin- aldosterone system and level of cortisol in primary refractory hypertension patientes with anxiety and/or depression.Method: From September 2013 to May 2014, 120 primary refractory hypertension patients who were admitted to the central hospital of Chengde were enrolled. All of the patientes received Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS). Patientes with SAS scoring total raw score ≥40 were diagnosed as anxiety, while, patientes with SDS scoring total raw score ≥41 were diagnosed as depression. Patientes with anxiety and/or depression were allocated to observation group, the others were allocated to control group. The date of age, hight, weight, monthly income, course of disease and level of renin and cortisol were recorded and analysed.Results:1 There were 15 patients(12.50%) with anxiety and 37 patientes(30.83%) with depression. Size of observation group and control group were 52 vs. 68.2 Proportion of female in observation group were significantly more than control group(P=0.000). There were no differences between two groups in age, hight, weight, monthly income or course of disease.3 Level of renin(1.75±1.35 vs. 2.37±2.09, P=0.008) and cortisol(2.45-1.81-3.89 vs. 7.59-3.18-2.64, P=0.015)of patientes in observation group were significantly higher than control group.4 In observation group, there was significantly positive correlation between gender(P=0.027) and level of cortisol(P=0.015) and primary refractory hypertension, while, there was no significantly differences between level of renin and that(P>0.05). In control group, there was significantly positive correlation between level of cortisol(P=0.011) and primary refractory hypertension, while, there was no significantly differences between gender and level of renin and that(P>0.05).Conclusion: In primary refractory hypertension patientes with anxiety and/or depression, proportion of female and level of renin and cortisol were hiehter. Female and patientea with hight level of cortisol were easily be primary refractory hypertension patientes with anxiety and/or depression.
