Object ivesHypertension is a kind of common disease presenting with steady increase of blood pressure as its major clinical manifestations, which can cause serious complications in heart, brain and kidney. Renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) has played an important role in the formation mechanism of hypertension. By comparing the changes about essential hypertension (Qi deficiency, sputum and blood stasis in the collaterals) patients’angiotensin, rennin and aldosterone, before and after treatment of abdominal acupuncture in this study, we can evaluate its influence on RAAS after being treated by abdominal acupuncture.MethodsSixty primary hypertension patients are chosen by adoption standards in this study. They have been randomly divided into two groups:the treatment group and control group, by using the statistical software PEMS3.1. Each group has30patients. Both of the two groups take the same antihypertensive drugs: Nifedipine Controlled Release Tablets30mg qd, Metoprolol Tartrate Tablets12.5mg bid. The treatment group adds the abdominal acupuncture treatment, which acupuncture the acupoints call zhongwan, xiawan, qihai, guanyuan, shuidao and daheng, while the control group adds no other treatments. The patients are treated for just a week. During this period, we record the four changes of hypertension before and after treatment. By analysing the changes of angiotensin, rennin and aldosterone, we understand the abdominal acupuncture’s inner influence on RAAS, and discuss how the mechanism of RAAS reduce the blood pressure. Result1. After treatment, the angiotensin I, rennin and aldosterone are significantly lower than before treatment in both groups, which tested by standing and laying, and significant differences exist(P<0.05).2. After treatment, the angiotensin I of4℃,37℃which tested by laying and the angiotensin I of4℃which tested by standing have no obvious difference between the two groups, and no statistical difference exists (P>0.05), and the37℃angiotensin I tested by standing in treatment group is obviously lower than the control group, significant differences exist (P <0.05).3. Both the rennin and aldosterone, which tested by standing and laying, have the statistics difference (P<0.05) between two groups after treatment. To sum up, for the statistics results above, abdominal acupuncture can’t obviously decrease the angiotensin I in the body, but it can reduce the secretion of aldosterone and inhibit the release of rennin, so it has certain influence on RAAS.ConelusionAbdominal acupuncture can reduce the secretion of aldosterone and inhibit the release of rennin, and has certain influence in RAAS, which provides a new approach for hypertension treatment.
