objective:To compare intraoperative fine needle aspiration cytology(FNAC), disposable automatic biopsy gun biopsy and both of two techniques implementted under intraoperative ultrasound guided for diagnosis of solid pancreatic head masses. Methods:Eighty patients with solid head pancreatic masses in Chengdu military general hospital and People’s No.l Hospital of Jiu long po district Chongqing from August 2013 to August 2014 were impementted in intraoperative diagnosis of solid pancreatic head masses. Group A using fine needle aspiration cytology, (FNAC); group B using disposable automated biopsy gun biopsy;group C using fine needle aspiration cytology by intraoperative ultrasound; group D using disposable automated biopsy by intraoperative ultrasound. Every group consisted of 20 cases. The positive found rate of biopsy, the accuracy of diagnosis rate of biopsy, the postoperative complications occurrence rate were calculated. Results: Comparison with the positive found rate of biopsy and the accuracy of diagnosis rate of biopsy of group A and C was P=0.028 and P=0.013, the results were no meaning in statistics. The same result was happened in comparison with group B and D(P=0.013; P=0.013). But the result of comparison with the postoperative complications occurrence rate in group A and C or group B and D was all P>0.05. The results of comparison with the positive found rate of biopsy and the accuracy of diagnosis rate of biopsy in group C and D were no meaning in statistics (P>0.05). But the result of postoperative complications occurrence rate in group C and D was P=0.008.Conclusion ntraoperative fine needle aspiration cytology under intraoperative ultrasound is more precise, reliable than without it. In the same condition of positive found rate of biopsy and the accuracy of diagnosis rate of pathological examination, intraoperative fine needle aspiration cytology under intraoperative ultrasound is the most security and reliable mode. It is the worthiest recommendation method for intraoperative diagnosis solid pancreatic head masses.
