Objective:Through the clinical observation on distribution characteristics of the TCM syndromes of ischemic stroke in the acute phase, it is to discuss which TCM syndromes easily causing stroke-associated pneumonia, analyze risk factors easily causing stroke-associated pneumonia, and provide some reference suggestions for the prevention and treatment of stroke-associated pneumonia in the thesis.Object and Methods:In total,153 eligible medical cases of acute ischemic stroke patients were selected for research. These patients’general information, TCM syndromes and previous history were collected. On the admission date, NIHSS (National Institute of Health stroke scale) assessment was made on patients, and their biochemical indexes were sent for examination. These patients were divided into two groups, namely group with pneumonia and group without pneumonia, based on whether pneumonia occurred to patients or not between the 48 hours after admission and two weeks. Then data analysis was made with SPSS 16.0.Results:1. Stroke-associated pneumonia occurred to 40 cases among 153 cases of acute ischemic stroke patients; occurrence rate of stroke-associated pneumonia is about 26.1%.2. Occurrence situation of six TCM syndromes of stroke-associated pneumonia patients are as follows:the occurrence frequency of wind syndrome is highest (72.5%); the remaining are successively phlegm syndrome (65%), heat syndrome (42.5%), stasis syndrome (37.5%), Qi deficiency syndrome (27.5%) as well as in deficiency and yang excess syndrome (10%). Among the six stroke syndromes, the occurrence of wind syndrome, phlegm syndrome and stasis syndrome in two groups has statistical significance (P<0.05).3.The combination of two basic TCM syndromes, while,Wind syndrome+phlegm syndrome is the majority in acute ischemic stroke syndromes, and which followed by the combination of three basic TCM syndromes. The combination of four basic TCM syndromes is rare. The combination of five or six basic TCM syndromes is not found in this research. The combination of three basic TCM syndromes, while, Wind syndrome+heat syndrome+ phlegm syndrome is the majority among stroke-associated pneumonia TCM syndromes, the combination of two basic TCM syndromes is the secondly.4. Atrial fibrillation, age, serum albumin, serum sodium, serum calcium and NIHSS scores among group with pneumonia and group without pneumonia have statistical significance (P<0.05).5. Through logistic regression analysis of risk factors of stroke-associated pneumonia, it hints: phlegm syndrome is susceptible syndromes of stroke-associated pneumonia patients; NIHSS assessment, and serum sodium value are closely related to the occurrence of stroke-associated pneumonia.Conclusion:1. Attention should be paid to the levels of sodium, calcium and albumin in patients’ serum on admission date.2. Phlegm syndrome.NIHSS assessment, and serum sodium value are closely related to the occurrence of stroke-associated pneumonia.
