| ObjectiveBy observing the clinical efficacy of acupuncture treatment combined with floating needle therapy on SHS after stroke, to provide evidence of the clinical treatment of the disease and improve the efficacy of treatment on this disease.MethodsSixty qualified testees were randomized into acupuncture and floating needle group(treatment group) and acupuncture group(control group). Two groups of patients were all treated with conventional therapy. The treatment group accepted Acupuncture therapy combined with floating needle therapy and the control group were merely treated with Acupuncture therapy. Both groups were treated for two courses (two weeks). Before and after treatment, the scores of SHS scale, FMA scale and VAS scale of all patients were recorded and used to assess the efficacy of two groups according to the statistical data.ResultsThe difference of all patients’ gender, age, stroke character were not statistically significant (P> 0.05). The scores of SHS scale, FMA scale, VAS scale of all testees show no significant difference. So the two groups of patients were comparable. Before and after the treatment, comparing the scores for three scales of two groups of patients respectively, the results were statistically significant, suggesting that both therapy of two groups have treatment efficacy. They can relieve the patient’s pain, edema and improve their motor function effectively. Then comparing the score difference before and after treatment between two groups of patients, the difference was statistically significant in the score difference of VAS scale and SHS scale. This suggested that the treatment group which were received acupuncture therapy combined with floating needle therapy have more significant efficacy, this therapy can relieve the pain in patients with SHS and improve their motor function more obviously. the combination of acupuncture therapy and floating needle can relieve the clinical sympotoms of patients with SHS.ConclusionThe combination of acupuncture therapy and floating needle therapy has more obvious efficacy on patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke. The combination therapy can improve patients’ motor function and relieve their clinical symptoms, this provide a more effective therapy on SHS. |
