Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of chemotherapy with oxaliplatin in combination with either S-1 or paclitaxel liposome as the first-line therapy for advanced gastric cancer. Methods:The date of 92 cases of pathologically confirmed advanced gastric cancer patients from November 2011 to September 2013 were collected in the Oncological Department of The Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Xin jiang Medical University. Ninety-two patients with advanced gastric cancer were divided into two groups. In group A(46 cases), oxaliplatin combined with S-1 were administered, oxaliplatin 130mg/m2, intravenously on day 1, S-1 80mg/(m2·d), orally twice daily, days 1~14; In group B (46 cases), oxaliplatin combined with paclitaxel liposome were administered, paclitaxel liposome 135mg/m2, intravenously on day 1. oxaliplatin 130mg/ m2, intravenously on day 1. days 21 was a cycle in both groups. The short-term curative effect, progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS) and adverse reactions were observed and compared between the two groups. Results:There were no significant differences in the objective response rate, disease control rate, median PFS between group A and group B (41.3% vs 45.7%,73.9%vs 71.7%,5.3 months vs 4.6 months; all P>0.05). The median OS in group A and group B were 12.2 and 10.2 months, respectively, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). The joint and muscle pain and neutropenia in group B were more severe than those in group A (P<0.05). Conclusion:The two chemotherapy regimens show the similar clinical efficacy for advanced gastric cancer, but oxaliplatin combined with S-1 could be superior to oxaliplatin plus paclitaxel liposome in OS and tolerance of chemotherapy toxicity.
