Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety of hyaluronic acid injection with autologous fat granules injection transplant for the correction of nasolabial folds.Methods:60 subjects with moderate to severe nasolabial folds (Wrinkle Severity Rating Scale, WSRS) were divided into two groups randomly. The subjects received hyaluronic acid injection in group A, and autologous fat granules injection transplant ingroup B. Wrinkle improvement was measured before and after treatment 3,6,12 months, using the Wrinkle Severity Rating Scale (WSRS) and the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS) as outcome criteria. Adverse events were also evaluated. Results:The efficacy was assessed by investigator and subject respectively. Both fillers showed immediate, good results after treatment and demonstrated good durability over time. The WSRS score at 12 months after treatment in group B was lower than that in group A, and the effectiveness was statistically different (P<0.05). The satisfaction rate on GAIS at 12 months after treatment in group B was higher than that in group A, and the effectiveness was statistically different (P< 0.05). Both fillers were well tolerated, without serious adverse events. The incidence rate of redness and pruritus within 12 months after treatment in group A was higher than that in group B, and the effectiveness was statistically different (P<0.05). The effectiveness of swelling, pain and skin induration within 12 months after treatment was not statistically different (P>0.05). Conclusion:Compared to hyaluronic acid injection, autologous fat granules injection transplant for the correction of nasolabial folds could get a longer lasting effect, with nature contour, and it is worth spreading in clinic.
