Objective:To investigate the personality traits and family factors of schizophrenia and the relationship between personality traits and family factors.Methods:80patients with schizophrenia(case group) and100normal individuals(control group) were tested by general condition questionary, NEO-FFI, SPQ,FUSE,FACES-Ⅱ and PANSS. Patients’parents were tested by NEO-FFI and SPQ. Compare the differences of general conditions, big five personality, schizotypal personality, parenting style and family adaptability and cohesion between two groups; analyses whether there has a correlation between patients’ personality and family factors; multiple stepwise regression analysis was conducted, parents’personality, parenting style and the breadth of dissatisfaction with family adaptability and cohesion as independent variables, patients’ personality as dependent variable.Ressults:1. There was a significant difference between schizophrenic patients’ personality traits and control group, agreeableness, conscientiousness, openness to experience and extroversion for schizophrenic patients were significantly tower than control group (P<0.05), neuroticism and every dimension of schizotypal personality for schizophrenic patients was significantly higher than control group (P<0.001).2. There was a significant difference between schizophrenic patients’parenting style and control group, parents’acceptance-exclude, democracy-dictatorship, respect-humiliation, tolerant-indulgence, discipline-control, expectation-demanding, warmth-rude and father’s warmth-rude, and mother’s incentive-punishment, understanding-blame for schizophrenic patients were significantly lower than control group (P<0.05).3. There was a significant difference between schizophrenic patients’ family circumstance and control group, the level of dissatisfaction about adaptability and cohesion for schizophrenic patients were significantly higher than control group (P<0.001), and there was a significant difference between schizophrenic patients’ family and control group (P<0.001).4. Schizophrenic patients’ personality traits were close contact with parents’ personality traits(P<0.01), agreeableness (0.577/0.572), conscientiousness(0.850/0.674), extroversion (0.493/0.551), openness to experience (0.616/0.663) and neuroticism(0.505/0.738) all reached a moderate level of correlation, positive schizotypal personality with mother’s disorganized personality(r=0.408) and negative schizotypal personality(r=0.408), disorganized personality with mother’s disorganized personality(r:0.552) and negative schizotypal personality(r=0.455), negative schizotypal personality with mother’s disorganized personality(r=0.405) and parents’negative schizotypal personality(0.350/0.639) reached a mild-to-moderate level of correlation.5. Schizophrenic patients’personality traits were contact with parenting style, most dimensions of personality were statistically significantly correlated with parenting style (P<0.05), but the majority of relevant values were small(r<0.30), only parts of them reached to0.30, agreeableness with incentive-punishment(0.333/0.320), warmth-rude(0.274/0.323) and discipline-control (0.359/0.336), openness to experience with tolerant-indulgence(0.299/0.314) and incentive-punishment(0.333/0.295), positive schizotypal personality with respect-humiliation;(-0.313/-0.324) and discipline-control(-0.362/-0.340), disorganized personality with respect-humiliation (-0.312/-0.366), negative schizotypal personality with acceptance-exclude(-0.378/-0.409), respect-humiliation(-0.396/-0.428), incentive-punishment (-0.339/-0.356), understanding-blame(-0.420/-0.440), warmth-rude(-0.347/-0.298) and expectation-demanding(-0.387/-0.413).6.There was only statistically correlation between schizophrenic patients’personality traits and factors of family environment (r=-0.222~-0.280, P<0.05) and there was no practical significance.7. There was a correlation between schizophrenic patients’ personality traits and clinical feature, there was a certain correlation between schizophrenic patients’ big five personality traits and clinical feature(P<0.01), there was a mild correlation between agreeableness and the score of general psychology scale(r=-0.332), neuroticism and the score of positive psychology scale(r=0.316), there was a mild-to-moderate correlation between positive schizotypal personality and positive psychofogy scale(r=0.582) and general psychology scale(r=0.338), disorganized personality and general psychology scale(r=0.301), negative schizotypal personality and the scores of positive, negative and general psychology scales(r=0.373-0.442).8.Schizophrenic patients’ personality traits were affected by parents’ personality traits, parenting style and family circumstance, patients’agreeableness was affected by father’s agreeableness (β=0.451,△R2=0.333), mother’s agreeableness (β=0.382,△R2=0.176), father’s conscientiousness(β=0.287,△R2=0.100) and mother’s respect-humiliation(β=0.194, AR2=0.037); patients’conscientiousness was affected by father’s conscientiousness (β=0.644,△R2=0.723), mother’s conscientiousness (β=0.283,△R2=0.044), father’s extroversion(β=0.130,△R2=0.016) and the level of dissatisfaction about cohesion (β=-0.110,△R2=0.012); patients’extroversion was affected by mother’s extroversion (β=0.328,△R2=0.304), father’s extroversion(β=0.386,△R2=0.150), father’s neuroticism (β=-0.289,△R2=0.074), mother’s openness to experience(β=0.206,△R2=0.063), mother’s incentive-punishment(β3=0.264,△R2=0.032) and father’s discipline-control (β=-0.210,△R2=0.033); patients’ openness to experience was affected by mother’s openness to experience(β=0.450,△R2=0.439), father’s openness to experience (β=0.372,△R2=0.112) and father’s acceptance-exclude(β=0.219,△R2=0.047); patients’ neuroticism was affected by mother’s neuroticism(P=0.600,△R2=0.545), mother’s incentive-punishment(β=-0.239,△R2=0.048) and father’s neuroticism (β=0.229,△R2=0.041); patients’ positive schizotypal personality was affected by mother’s positive schizotypal personality(β=0.446,△R2=0.273), mother’s respect-humiliation (β=-0.306,△R2=0.120),mother’s disorganized personality (β=0.250,△R2=0.088) and mother’s negative schizotypal personality(β=0.191,△R2 =0.031); patients’ disorganized personality was affected by mother’s disorganized personality(β=0.461,△R2=0.305), mother’s respect-humiliation(β=-0.312,△R2=0.123) and mother’s negative schizotypal personality(β=0.260,△R2=0.059); patients’ negative schizotypal personality was affected by mother’s negative schizotypal personality(β=0.495△R2=0.048), father’s understanding-blame (β=-0.360, AR2=0.113), mother’s disorganized personality(β=0.187,△R2=0.058)and father’s negative schizotypal personality (β=0.164,△R2=0.021).Conclusion:1. There was a significant difference between schizophrenic patients and control group in personality traits, parenting style and family environment, the tendency of high neuroticism, low agreeableness, low conscientiousness, low openness to experience, low extroversion and high schizotypal personality act as schizophrenic patients’ personality traits, the tendency of exclude, dictatorship, humiliation and control act as schizophrenic patients’ parenting style;2. Schizophrenic patients’ personality traits are affected by parents’ personality and parenting style in a certain degree, there is a certain similarity between schizophrenic patients’ and parents’ personality, personality is affected by parenting style in varying degrees;3.There is a certain relationship between patients’ personality and clinical traits, psychopathology may affected by agreeableness and neuroticism, schizotypal personality traits are more significant influence on psychopathology.
