Objective:To definite the situation, which includes the type of the occupational hazards andthe degree of it, the effects of protective measures, the management of occupationhealth and so on of a wooden furniture manufacturer, the effectual protective andcontrollable measures can be proposed which can guarantee the concentration of theoccupational hazards at workplace complying with the national standard so that theoccupational disease could be prevented and controlled that it harms people’s healthfrom the source.Methods:Select a wooden furniture manufacturer and adopt a survey onoccupational hygieneon-site. Then, combine the occupational hygiene inspection method with quantitativegradation method and put the occupational hazards prevention methods, the level ofpersonal occupational prevention and the result of quantitative gradation together. Anevaluation would be given according to the level of the contact on the occupationalhazards of those workers who are performing on-site and the impact on theiroccupational health. With the assistance of inspection tables and every measure ofevaluating the occupational hazards prevention, reasonable suggestion could be comeup with on those existing issues. Enterprises would make better improvements to caterto the requirements of nation’s laws and regulations.Results:The outcome of this evaluation on the wooden furniture indicates as follow: thetotal number of the enterprise is192and there are121people contacting with theoccupational hazards which occupies around63.02percent. Among those people,72people contact with chemical toxicant,79people contact with industrial dust and other26people contact with physical factors. The result getting at the scene illustrate that thetesting number of chemical toxicant is49points which is beyond our nation’s standardby6points and the percent of pass is87.75per cent. What’s more, the testing number of industrial dust is11points which is also beyond our nation’s standard by7points andthe percent of pass is only36.36percent. Finally, the testing number of physical factoris17points which is2more than our nation’s standard and the percent of pass is88.23percent. Those over-standard occupational hazards are wood dust or other dust, styrene,ethyl benzene, xylene, butyl acetate, toluene and noise among which the severestover-standard dust position is oil abrasion. The concentration of other dust of this job isbeyond the standard4.7times. The severest over-standard on chemical toxicant positionis the substrate-closed. The concentration of xylene is beyond the standard9.4times.Those positions mentioned are the key ones of the occupational hazards in this woodenfurniture manufacturer and ventilation system cannot be set at certain place. Althoughoccupational disease patients are not be found during the on-job physical check-upprocess, there are still11workers show abnormal outcomes. And the percentage of it is9.09%. According to the situation, this enterprise has changed their positions and then itimproves those issues (chemical factors and physical factors) and finally meets thestandard of the nation.Conclusion:①this wooden furniture manufacturer exists the occupational hazards as follow:Xylene, toluene, ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, formaldehyde, polyethylene, TDI, normalbutanol, wood dust and other chemical factors and physical factors such as noise,ultraviolet radiation, and the excess of the occupational-disease-inductive factors in theworkplace situation is serious.②the relevant occupational health system is not sound.Those established system cannot be implemented effectively. Enterprise needs to do theimprovements according to the law on prevention and cure of occupational diseasestrictly.③the part of field operation which is easily caused theoccupational disease inthis enterprise doesn’t take the effective measures to protect its workers. And themaintenance of those established protective facilities is also poor during the test.④according to the field investigation, the wearing of personal belongings (tools andprotections) is not standard and workers are lack of the awareness of self-protectionwhich show the whole enterprise the shortages of its management.
