Cataract is currently one of the higher incidence blinding eye diseases in the world. Among the numerous treatment methods, Phacoemulsification cooperated with intraocular lens implantation is popular among the majority of patients and has become the main way to treat cataracts. Currently, most of the surgeries can recover patient’s sight to some extent, however individual surgical or postoperative complications are still exist and impede the recovery of visual acuity, analysis of aqueous humor flow mechanism within the eye is helpful to the development of ophthalmology.A hydrodynamic rigid three-dimensional model of natural convection based on fluent software has been made to study microfluidic flow in the human eye. The anterior and posterior chambers are regarded as research model, which is the main channel of aqueous humor, the pressure difference and temperature caused by the aqueous humor in the eyeball was calculated, the cornea temperature, aqueous humor flow and gap width between iris and pupil’s influence on pressure difference was analyzed. Pressure difference of the model after cataract surgery was calculated in different gap width between iris and pupil. Compared with the model before surgery, the hydrodynamic reasons of cataract surgery complications are analyzed.Based on the rigid model, the iris is regarded as elastomer in the further research. One-way and two-way fluid-structure interaction analysis methods are combined using Ansys software. Pressure and velocity field contour and vector of aqueous humor fluid are calculated. In order to verify the correctness of the model, rigid models are built without fluid-structure interaction or model size and mesh change. Single points are selected to compare with the elastic model in terms of mechanical properties. After the normal eye model results is verified, models after cataract surgery are established to compare with normal eye elastic models in terms of fluid pressure and velocity, characteristics of the circulating fluid in the eye after cataract surgery is analyzed. In this paper, micro-fluid within the eye and the factors lead to cataract surgery complications were analyzed with the numerical simulation method, the results will provide certain reference for numerical simulation of Ophthalmology.
