Backgroud:The health of senior are threated by the cerebral infarctionseriously. It has high incidence rate、disability rate、mortality rate、recurrence rate and many complications, the number of young patient withcerebral infarction is increasing. Cerebral infarction has been severelythreatening human health, affecting human health and social economy. Thediagnosis and treatment of cerebral infarction is extremely important.Neurotrophic factors can promote the growth, differentiation and survivalof neurons and glial cells, bFGF is one of the many neurotrophic factors. Inrecent years, more and more people pay attention to study of bFGF.Objective:To assess the clinical significance of serum basic fibroblastgrowth factor (bFGF) in cerebral infarction by measuring the change of itslevel in the patients with cerebral infarction. Methods:The subjects are consisted of the experimental group of84patients with acute cerebral infarction and the control group of30healthy individuals. Patients’ blood samples of the experimental group iscollected within24hours,7days and14days after cerebral infarction. Thepatients with acute cerebral infarction are divided into3groups accordingto the size of the infarction. Serum levels of bFGF of84cases of acutecerebral infarction were measured by ELISA.30healthy subjects set as control group. SPSS19.0statistical software was used for statisticalprocessing.Results:(1)Serum levels of bFGF were17.53±6.98、12.58±5.98、8.14±4.24inpatients with acute cerebral infarction after the onset of the1d,7d,14d,serum level of bFGF is4.81±2.29in healthy subjects. Serum level ofbFGF were significantly higher (P<0.01) in patients with acute cerebralinfarction after the onset of the1d,7d,14d.Serum levels of bFGF weresignificant differences in patient groups with acute cerebral infarction afterthe onset of the1d,7d,14d(p<0.01).(2)Serum levels of bFGF were26.94±3.68、18.89±5.48、12.91±4.31inpatients with acute cerebral infarction which the largest diameter ofnecrosis is more than5cm after the onset of the1d,7d,14d.Serum levels ofbFGF were18.54±5.32、13.28±4.65、8.65±3.16in patients with acutecerebral infarction which the largest diameter of necrosis is between1.5cmand5cm after the onset of the1d,7d,14d.Serum levels of bFGF were18.54±5.32、13.28±4.65、8.65±3.16in patients with acute cerebralinfarction which the largest diameter of necrosis is less than1.5cm after theonset of the1d,7d,14d. Serum levels of bFGF were significant differencesin differrent patient groups with acute cerebral infarction after the onset ofthe1d,7d,14d(p<0.01). Conclusion:1.Serum level of bFGF and the size of lesion are closely related inpatients with acute cerebral infarction.2.As time goes on,serum level of bFGF decreases gradually in patientswith cerebral infarction.3.Measuring the serum level of bFGF has a very important clinicsignificance in acute cerebral infarction.
