HIFU Used In Desmoid Tumor Of Abdominal Wall:a Case Report And Literature Review

In this paper we report one case of high-intensity focused ultrasound applied in abdominal Desmoid Tumor, describe the clinical appearance, imaging manifestation and pathological feature of the disease, analyze the methods of high-intensity focused ultrasound treatment,the imaging alterations and effect during the treatment of the disease.Then we review the literature and explore the epidemiology, etiology, pathological features, imaging diagnosis and treatment of Desmoid Tumor. The patient is a36-year-old woman who discovered a mass on abdominal wall2years ago, about5cm in size. Then the patient took an abdominal wall lumpectomy under anesthesia on2012-05-22, pathology prompted "abdominal Desmoid Fibroma". Took BUS every three months and had CT every six months,2012-12-07CT illustrated the recurrence of the abdominal Desmoid Fibroma,2013-08-22CT prompted the mass significantly enlarged. Then the patient came to our hospital in2013-09-09, received high-intensity focused ultrasound treatments in2013-09-13,2013-10-21,2013-12-30,2014-03-03, MRI illustrated the size of tumor reduced from14.9×9.3×7.3cm to10.4×7.5×6.3cm, and had the trend of shrink.
