Now, with the rapid development of China’s economy, the demand for health care services of the people is also growing rapidly. But for a long time, the investment of the government on the healthcare system was not enough. And also, there were a lot of shortcomings existing in the health care system and hospital management system. All of these malpractices, and the shortage of medical resources and unreasonable configuration caused by the malpractices led to "proper health care difficult to get" and "expensive of proper health care". Since April2009, the announcement of the new medical reform program indicated that a new round of medical reform has officially started in China. The basic health care system being provided to all of the people as a public good was firstly proposed in the program. At the same time, private capital and foreign investment were allowed to enter the medical market, and the medical environment became more unpredictable. Therefore, the competitive pressures faced by hospitals increased profoundly. In this social context, the domestic public large hospitals faced unprecedented opportunities and challenges. On this background, how to ensure the long-term, stable and continuous development of Shengjing Hospital is a main subject for the hospital executives to thought deeply. The scientific, objective and actionable strategy will be even more important for the development and survival of the hospital.In this paper, based on the study of Shengjing Hospital, according to the basic theory of modern strategic management, the strategy for the future development of Shengjing Hospital was analyzed and designed.In this article, modern strategic management theory and hospital’s strategic management were outlined firstly, and the theoretical basis of the development strategy of Shengjing Hospital was formed based on the accurate grasp of business strategy and strategic management content. Secondly, though the systematic analysis of the external environment and the healthcare industry environment, the opportunities and threats of Shengjing hospital were revealed. Based on the study of internal environment of Shengjing Hospital, including human resources management, financial management, research management, technical status, equipment status, information technology construction, management ability and the hospital culture, the advantages attribute and weaknesses of the hospital were brought to light. And thus by the usage of SWOT analysis, the opportunities and challenges, the advantages and disadvantages of the hospital were summarized systemically. These provided a scientific basis for the development and implementation of hospital management strategy. Thirdly, according to the outcome of strategic analysis, the strategic objectives and the overall strategy of Shengjing Hospital were established. Finally, the systemic implementation of the strategy was put forward.The results of the study will be very important for Shengjing Hospital to achieve the long term objectives, to enhance the core competitiveness and to establish the strategic advantage of healthcare market. And it will also be a good reference for the rapid growth of other domestic large public hospitals.
