Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Yishenzhumian decotion on treating insomnia and to explore its effect on intracerebral neurotransmitter.Methods:60Patients with insomnia were randomly divided into two groups, Chinese medicine(CM) group received Yishenzhumian decoction(200ml every time, Bid), and western medicines(WM) group took zolpidem(1Omg every time, Qn), two groups had a course of4weeks. Before treatment and at the end of treatment, all patients of the two groups would be tested the brain fluctuation diagram, TCM syndrome score, blood routine, liver funtion, kidney function, electrocardiogram and Pittsburgh sleep index scale. After the withdrawal of two months, Pittsburgh sleep index scale was recorded again.Results:1.The total effective rate of CM group and WM group were90.00%and83.33%(P <0.05).2.Compared with before treatment, at the end of treatment two group’s PSQI rating scale total score were significantly lower (P<0.01), and at this time, difference between two group has no statistical significance (P>0.05).Compared with the end of treatment, at the two months after discontinuation PSQI scale score of CM group has no significant change (P>0.05), and the PSQI scale score of WM group was higher (P<0.05), and at this time difference between two group was statistically significant (P<0.05).Compared with before treatment, two months after discontinuation each group have significant statistical significance (P<0.01). Compared with before treatment, at the end of treatment some sub projects of the PSQI scale score of two groups--sleep quality, sleep time, sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep disorder, daytime function was statistically difference (P<0.05).Compared with the end of treatment, after two months discontinuation some sub projects of the PSQI scale score of two groups, including sleep quality, sleep time, sleep disorder and hypnotic drug programs are statistically significant (P<0.05), the rest of the project no change (P>0.05).3.Before treatment the comparison between the two groups’GABA,5-HT was no significant difference. After treatment GABA in each groups was elevated (P<0.01), the comparison between two groups have no statistical significance at the time (P>0.05).After treatment CM group5-HT was higher than before treatment (P<0.01), while WM group wasn’t(P>0.05).And the comparison between two groups have statistical significance (P<0.05).4.Two groups before treatment the comparison of TCM syndrome score has no statistical difference(P>0.05), but there was significant difference at the time of after treatment(P<0.01).Compared with before and after treatment each group, the CM group has significant difference(P<0.01) and the WM group hasn’t (P>0.05).After treatment the comparison of TCM syndrome score two group has statistical difference(P<0.01).5.The blood routine, liver and kidney function, electrocardiogram of all patients of two groups had no significant changes during treatment. Abdominal discomfort and diarrhea happen to one case of the CM group(3.3%), While there was6patients of the WM group(20.0%) appeared dizziness or fatigue.Comparison of adverse reactions incidence of two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Yishenzhumian decoction isn’t inferior to zolpidem, its role may be through increasing intracerebral GABA and5-HT levels to achieve.
