Atrial fibrillation, as one of today’s most common arrhythmia diseases, has a high incidence in the population. According to statistics, the incidence of atrial fibrillation in people over the age of60can achieve6%. Atrial fibrillation is much harmful to human health, which has a high probability to lead physical disability, hemiplegic paralysis and even death. Among the present treatment for atrial fibrillation, unipolar radiofrequency ablation can achieve relatively ideal treatment, but it’s still difficult to control current flow direction and cannot ensure ablation lesions tightly connection to break ectopic signal, which easily lead to unnecessary complications. Therefore, the improvements of radiofrequency ablation manner and the innovations of ablation device have very important significance. In order to solve the problem of unipolar radiofrequency electrodes, the paper makes improvements based on the original unipolar radiofrequency catheter ablation and proposes methods that could achieve bipolar radiofrequency catheter linear ablation to overcome atrial fibrillation. The main work of the paper is listed below:Modeling analyzing of the RFA damaged area based on finite element method, using the Comsol Multiphysics coupling software to simulate the ablation process, screening the optimum voltage and spacing parameters to ratio the electrodes by observing the temperature distribution of the target ablation area; simulating ablation to the various thickness of myocardium using this spacing of electrodes, determining application scope of designed electrodes by observing the simulated temperature field of various thickness myocardium; systematic analyzing the impacts on simulation results from electrodes spacing, electrodes inserted depth, electrodes radius. Finally, conducting qualitative experimental study on high quality pig heart in vitro, verifying the feasibility and application scope of bipolar catheter ablation by comparing simulation. Providing a basis for the practical design and industrialization.
