Professor Xu Fusong’s Andrology Academic Thoughts And Clinical Experience

Professor Xu Fusong was one of the founders of Andrology of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He has been involved in clinical work for several decades and has rich experience in male’s diseases. In this thesis, we sum up his academic origin,main academic theories, and clinical experience. The first part,we introduce Professor Xu’s academic origin, which heritage from Ma Peizhi’s medical school. His tutor is Xu Lvhe, who was a famous surgeon in Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM. The second part, we introduce Professor Xu’s major academic thoughts, including theory on male’s gonad, sex function, semen and fertility, theory on internal and external renal, doctrine on impotence due to Yin deficiency, and syndrome differentiation. Professor Xu thinks that gonad is foundation, sex function is outword, semen is substance, fertility is result. He creats many useful prescription, for example, Bitu Decoction, Jujing Decoction, Er Di Biejia Decoction, Qiwei 1 Decoction, Shuilu Erxian pellet, Jing Tailai granule.The third part, we introduce his clinical experience in treating male’sdiseases, including chronic prostatitis, erectile dysfunction, male’s infertility, epididymitis, seminal, premature ejaculation, nocturnal emission and other diseases. The fourth part, we use Jujing 2 Decoction, which is created by Professor Xu, to treat infertility due to varicocele.We find Jujing 2 Decoction is an effective treatment for infertility due to varicocele. Jujing 2 Decoction contains three treatment methods, invigorating kidney, activating blood and clearing heat.
