Professor Xu Fusong's Experience On Regulating Semen And Clinical Observation On The Therapy Of Jujing Decoction For Oligoasthenospermia.

Professor Xu Fusong is a famous doctor in Andrology of Traditional Chinese Medicine, who was born in a Chinese Medicine family. He inherited the academic thoughts from Menghe Medical School and Wuzhong Medical School. He is one of the founders of Andrology of Traditional Chinese Medicine,which is a unique scientific system.During his fifty years' career, he proposed a number of important academic thoughts and created a lot of excellent effective prescriptions. He compiled many Medical Books,for example, Xu Fusong's Andrology of Traditional Chinese, Andrology Checklist, Xu Fusong's Andrology Medical Records.These books had a profound impact in Andrology of Traditional Chinese. We summarize Professor Xu Fusong's major academic thought in the field of male infertility fistly. We call it 'regulating semen'.Irregular semen plays an important role on male infertility. Professor Xu Fusong has rich clinical experience in male's diseases. He treats semen abnormalities as a starting point for male infertility.He is expert in regulating and improving semen quality based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).We call that this process is 'regulating semen'.'Regulating semen' process as follows, according to four diagnostic methods of TCM, physical examination and semen test results,we conduct syndrome differentiation on the overall level and semen differentiation on the local level. We conclude that semen abnormalities contains five kinds:semen deficiency, semen-cold, semen-hot, semen-stasis and semen-wet.We treat male infertility by using'Regulating semen'theory and syndrome differentiation based on TCM.The purpose of Regulating semen' is making deviating semen return to balance and improving semen quality. We can ameliorate semen indicators and improve male's insemination ability. By using this method,we can simplify and optimize treatment based on TCM. Professor Xu's experience is that regulating kidney and reinforcing essence is the basis, taking into account the regulating spleen and liver, and pay attention to dispel the pathogenic factors:wet,heat,phlegm and blood stasis.We collected 70 outpatients with oligoasthenospermia.70 patients were selected and divided randomly into treatment and control group. In treatment group patients were given Jujing decoction. In control group we used Wuziyanzong pill as the only treatment. After 3 month's treatment, sperm concentration, spermatozoa motility and forward motile sperm percentage have a significant increase in both groups.There were statistical differences between two groups in the above indicators. The effect of the treatment group was better than the control group.
