Preliminary Observation Of Protein Electrophoresis Resultsaffected By SiMiaoSanJiaWei In Treatment Of Knee Osteoarthritis With Effusion

Objective:To observe the change ofalbumin, alpha 1 globulin, alpha 2 globulin, beta globulin and gamma globulin content in joint effusionof knee osteoarthritis with effusion patientstreated by SiMiaoSanJiaWei,then analysis the relevance to the clinical curative effect, and try to make the protein electrophoresis as a clinical diagnosis indexes and curative effect evaluation standard in kneeosteoarth- ritis.Methods:Selected 20 cases of KOA with effusion patients through the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria, then gave them 2 period of treatment(20 days) by SiMiaoSanJiaWei, to observe the treatment effect, and recordedthe VAS score, WOMAC index in patients before and after treatment. Extracted knee joint effusion of the 20 cases before and after treatment respectively for protein electrophoresis,recorded the electrophoresis results and made the analysisof thecorrelation with clinical efficacy.Results: The curative effect is significant after SiMiaoSanJiaWei treatment, total effective rate was 95%, VAS score differences before and after the treatment had significant statistical significance(P < 0.01), WOMAC index comparison before and after the treatment had significant statistical significance(P < 0.01).Albumin content increased obviously after treatment, there was statistical differences(P < 0.05);Alpha 1 globulin content decreased obviously after treatment, there wasstatistically significant differences(P < 0.01); After treatment than before treatment alpha 2 globulin content decreased obviously, there wasstatistically significant differences(P < 0.01); Beta globulin and gamma globulin content difference before and after the treatment had no statistical significance(P > 0.05).Conclusions:SiMiaoSanJiaWei could improve KOA patients’ disease situation, alleviate pain, improve the quality of life.Along with the improvement, SiMiaoSanJiaWei can improve the albumin content in joint effusion,reduce the alpha 1 globulin and alpha 2 globulin content. So we initially thought, joint effusion protein electrophoresis can be used as a clinical diagnosis of KOA and evaluation index of therapeutic effects.
