The best preliminary processing of fresh herbs refers to process the herbs in the place where it is harvested or dredged. The purpose is to purify medicinal parts, shorten the drying time, prevents mildew infestation, making it easy to transport and storage. The preliminary processing of herbs is to control the quality of herbal medicines from the source,and the important and indispensable link of the preliminary processing of fresh herbs is drying. Due to the influence of symbiotic microorganisms or enzymes from fresh herbs to dried herbs,which may cause degradation of the secondary metabolites in the herbs or thechange of its initial composition. So that after drying the fresh herbs, there is a great difference not only in the quantity of its chemical composition,but also significant differences in the pharmacodynamic effect.In this paper,five fresh Chinese medicals (Lobed Kudzuvine Root, Corydalis decumbens (Thunb.) Pers., Ardisa japonica (Thunb.) Blume, Sedum sarmentosum Bunge and Folium Callicarpae Macrophyllae)as the object, by comparing the impact of the different preliminary processing methods of the five herbs, to choose the best preliminary processing method.1.Puerarin is used as the target compounds of Lobed Kudzuvine Root. The experiment compares the content of index components between different parts of Pueraria:main root and lateral root, the experimental results show that the main root contain much higher puerarin than the lateral root, and containing up to3.369%of the dry weight herbs; the best preliminary methods of Pueraria is determined through comparing the contents of target compounds under different drying methods. The result showed the best preliminary processing method of Pueraria is drying in oven under45℃.2.In this paper, Rhizoma Corydalis Decumbentis as the research object, by comparing the impact of the different preliminary processing methods for the three alkaloids in Rhizoma Corydalis Decumbentis,determine the best preliminary processing method of Rhizoma Corydalis Decumbentis. The HPLC method was applied to quantify the contents of three alkaloids in Rhizoma Corydalis Decumbentis. Contents of the three alkaloids originated from different drying methods,ie.,dried in the sun, dried in the shade, dried at diferent temparatrue,were compared to determine the best preliminary processing method. The contents of index components in Rhizoma Corydalis Decumbentis which was dried in the above methods is totally different. The content of the three index components is highest when it isdried under the sun at30℃.3.Bergenin is used as the target compounds of Ardisa japonica (Thunb.) Blume, Study on the Best Preliminary Processing Technologies of Corydalis decumbens (Thunb.)Pers. based on Fresh Herbs and the quality of Chinese herbal mechanism in the drying process. Through comparing the content of index components between different parts of Corydalis decumbens (Thunb.)Pers, the experimental results show that the leaves contain much higher bergenin than the root. The best preliminary methods of Ardisa japonica (Thunb.) Blume is determined through compare the contents of target compounds under different drying methods. The result showed the best preliminary processing method of Ardisa japonica (Thunb.) Blume is drying in oven under85℃.4.Quercetin, kaempferide and isorhamnetin are used as the target compounds of Sedum sarmentosum Bunge. The results showed that:the content of the three target compounds are greatly increased after different drying manner:dry in the shade> dry in oven under105℃> dry in oven under45℃> dry in oven under60℃> dry in the sun> dry in oven under85℃> microwave drying> fresh sample. The total contents of the three target compounds which is dried under shade is slightly higher than which is dried in oven under105℃. As drying under shade takes too long time, the best preliminary processing method of Sedum sarmentosum Bunge is drying in oven under105℃.5.Acteoside is used as the target compounds of Bigleaf Beautyberry Leaf. The results showed that:the Bigleaf Beautyberry Leaf which is dried by different methods contain much higher Acteoside than the fresh Bigleaf Beautyberry Leaf, and Bigleaf Beautyberry Leaf which is dried under microwave drying contain the highest levels. The result showed the best preliminary processing method of Bigleaf Beautyberry Leaf is microwave drying.
