Purpose: By observing the preoperative serum albumin level of patients with the radical gastrectomy, and postoperative follow-up on time. To compare the life quality of the patients with preoperative low protein and preoperative normal serum albumin level according to the grade form of the quality life to measure the postoperative quality life for patients, and compared if there is any difference. At the same time, to explore the influence of the preoperative serum albumin level for the postoperative life quality of patients with cancer of the stomach. And it provided the evidence of the corresponding treatments or nursing intervention for patients in pre-operation when they were prepared and post-operation in recovery period, and not only let the patients to prolong their lives by operation, but also improve the postoperative life quality by pertinent treatments or nursing intervention. Method: To chose 80 case patients with the gastric cancer radical operation treatment from January 2012 to January 2014 in the general surgical department of the affiliated hospital of Yan’an University. It was according to the basic information of the patients’ preoperative case notes, the size of the tumor location, the preoperative serum albumin, the operation methods and the pathological diagnosis etc. After the surgical operation, the patients would be respectively follow up one time at the third, sixth and twentieth weeks, and the deadline of following up was on 30 th January, 2015. The patients or their families members were followed up, or by phone. And the researchers would be fill in the questionnaire of the life quality based on the patients’ condition description, then the patients were divided into low protein level group patients(A group) and the normal serum albumin group patients(B group) by preoperative serum albumin level of the patients. The questionnaire date of two groups would be taken statistical comparison analysis and compared the difference between them. If that, it could be provide the evidence of the corresponding treatments or nursing intervention for gastric cancer patients in pre-operation when they were prepared and post-operation in recovery period. Result: The average value that low protein level group patients(A group) was scored in March, June and the annual average was higher than the normal serum albumin group patients(B group), and it(A group) had poor life quality. And the discrepancy had statistical significance(P<0.05). In the average value in December scoring, there was difference between the two groups for the average date, but there was no any statistical significance(P>0.05). All aspects of the life quality scoring in December, low protein levelgroup patients(A group) was much more poor than the normal serum albumin group patients(B group) in body function, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, loss appetite and shape, and it had statistical significance(P<0.05) as well. Bu there was no obvious discrepancy in other aspects for two groups. Conclusion: Nutritional status has close relation with the postoperative life quality of the gastric cancer patients, and the serum albumin is the laboratory indicator as the commonest to reflect the body’s nutritional status. So the serum albumin level can be the prognostic indicator of the life quality for the postoperative patients. The patients who are the preoperative gastric cancer with low protein have poor recent life quality after the operation. They should be gotten the corresponding nutritional support, psychological and nursing intervention treatments etc.
