Objective: To study the expression of SENP5 in laryngopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma and its correlation with clinical significance. Methods :SP immunochemical method was performed to detect the expression of SENP5 in 26 cases of laryngeal carcinoma and para-carcinoma tissues(to cutting margin>0.5cm).Results: Expression of SENP5 in laryngopharyngeal carcinoma tissue were more significantly detectable than in para-carcinoma tissues(P <0.01)and tumor tissues were positive for SENP5. was closely related to pathological differentiation, pathological stages, lymph node metastasis(P<0.01).Conclusion :The abnormal expression of SENP5 may participate in the occurence and development of laryngopharyngeal carcinorma. It indicates that SENP5 may be markers in evaluating prognosis of laryngopharyngeal carcinoma and provide target s for chemopreventive strategies.
