Clinical Study Of Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy In The Diagnosis And Treatment Of Cervical Cancer

Objective Study on the accuracy, feasibility and clinical value of using nano-carbon suspension injection as a tracer for sentinel lymph node detection before diagnosis and treatment of cervical cance.Methods Do cervical injection using nano-carbon on 112 cases of cervical cancer patients. After 90 mins, implement the pelvic lymph node cleaning and the radical hysterectomy. Lymph nodes blacked by nano carbon were sentinel lymph nodes. After surgery, proceeded routine pathologic examination for all of the lymph nodes. For the sentinel lymph nodes, packed and examinated separately. Compared the result.Results Sentinel lymph nodes were found in 100 out of 112 patients, 217 totally, 10.31% of the total lymph nodes got cut off.(2104 lymph nodes in total, 2.17 sentinel lymph nodes for every patient on average). Detection rate of sentinel lymph nodes is 89.28%, sensitivity and specifity was 95% and 93%, respectively. 20 patients got lymph node metastasis, and the lymph node metastasis rate was 17.85%. 19 patients were lymph nodes identified successfully. 14 patients only got lymph node metastasis. 5 patients got both sentinel lymph nodes and pelvic lymph node metastasis. In this study, no patients were found sentinel lymph nodes didn’t metastasize, but non-sentinel lymph nodes did. Accuracy was 100%. Regarding the sentinel lymph node localization, ilium outer zone, obturator fossa, groin, ilium inner zone and got 28%, 40%, 4%, 24% and 4%, respectively. Sentinel lymph nodes metastasis got no significant relation with clinical stages, tumor diameter and patient age.Conclusion Usage of nano-carbon suspension injection for sentinel lymph nodes detection in cervical cancer can predict lymph nodes status accurately. It is an effective method and has a certain application in clinical.
