Expression Of 34βe12 And P63 In Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma Salivary Glands

Objective:In this research,we use immunohistochemical technique to detect the expression of34βe12 and P63 in normal group(NSG) and mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the salivary glands, to discuss their roles in the development of salivary gland tumor and its clinical significance.Methods:This experiment research objects were from the resection archive of paraffin specimens,which were saved in the pathology department of the First Clinical Hospital of Shanxi Medical University during 2006 Jan- 2014 Jan(10 cases of NSG, 35 cases of MEC).Using immunohistochemical staining method detected the expression of 34βe12and P63 in the tissue blocks.Then by observing the microscopic organization after dyeing,score statistics, experimental data by SPSS 16.0 software for statistical analysis.Results:(1)34βe12 expression could hardly be observerd in NSG group,but 85.7% of MEC showed positive staining.There was significant difference between them(P <0.01).The expression rate of 34βe12 in the high grade and the low grade of MEC were80.0%and 93.3%respectively.There was significant difference between them(P<0.01).34βe12 positive expression could be recognized in all of recurrent cases,while only83.9 % of non- recurrent cases showed 34βe12 expression. There was significant difference between them(P < 0.01). All of metastatic cases 34βe12 positive expression,but only 83.9%of non- metastatic cases showed 34βe12 expression.Therewas significant difference between them(P < 0.01). In MEC,the differences tumor location site,sex,age of were not significant(P>0.05).(2) The expression rate of P63 in NSG group and MEC group were 10 % and 71.4 %. There was significant difference between them(P < 0.01). The expression rate of P63 in the high grade of MEC was60.0%,while the rate was 86.7 % in the low grade. There was significant difference between them(P<0.01). All of recurrent cases showed P63 positive expression, but only67.7%of non- metastatic cases showed P63 expression.There was significant difference between them(P<0.01). P63 positive expression could be recognized in all of metastatic cases,while only 67.7%of non- metastatic cases showed 34βe12 expression. There was significant difference between them(P < 0.01). P63 positive expression was not significant, which was in the differences tumor location site,sex,age of MEC.Conclusion:The manifestation of 34βe12and P63 might pay a certain role in the occurrence and development of MEC.
