Object:To investigate the expression and significance of p11 m RNA in peripheral blood mononuclear cells in patients with posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD).Methods:1. Participants: The Participants came from a class 3-A hospital from October 2013 to December 2014.PTSD group: 34 PTSD patients; Non-PTSD group: 30 cases who experienced traumatic events, but did not developed into PTSD.2.Research tools: General situation questionnaire, post traumatic stress disorder checklist civilian version(PCL-C), hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA)and hamilton depression scale(HAMD).3.Research process: We collected participants who experienced severe trauma events in our outpatient and inpatient unit, and assessed participants with the general situation questionnaire, PCL-C, HAMA, and HAMD. Two psychiatrist were responsible for the diagnosis of PTSD. Venous blood was collected and sent to central laboratory for testing.4. Testing methods: The m RNA expression levels of p11 of all of the participants were estimated by real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(QRT-PCR)5. Statistical analysis: The Shanghai Hui Cheng Psychology Test Software was used to transform original data.Data was analysed by SPSS17.0 software. χ2 test was applied to compare count data, t test was used to analyse normal measurement data, and the nonparametric tests U Mann-Whitney test was used to analyse the non-normal data.Spearson correlation analysis was applied to perform correlation analysis. All tests were two-sided test, the test level is P <0.05.Results:1. The level of p11 m RNA expression was significantly lower than non-PTSD group, and the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).2. There were significant correlations between the levels of p11 m RNA expression and score of PCL-C、HAMA and HAMD(P<0.05).3. There were no significant correlations between the levels of p11 m RNA expression and age, the age when trauma happened and the duration since trauma happened(P>0.05).Conclusions:1.Comparing with Non-PTSD group, the level of p11 m RNA expression in PTSD group is significantly lower. The p11 m RNA expression levels may serve as a potential biomarker in distinguishing PTSD and non-PTSD.2.The more serious symptoms, the lower levels of p11 m RNA expression.
