Objective: To investigate and summarize the clin ical characteristics of Children’s cerebral cysticercosis through the comparative analysis of clinical datas of the Children’s and adult’s patients with cerebral cysticercosis, and to provide help for c linical diagnosis and treatment.Motheds: A trospective analysis of clinical datas of fifty-five patients diagnosed cerebral cysticercosis from the year 2011 to 2015 in Gansu Provincial Hospital. For all the participants, the gender, age, detailed m edical history, course of disease, urban and rural distribution, Laboratory and clinical charac teristics, imaging features, treatment and prognosis were collected. And all the patients were divided to two groups(children 25 cases and adults 30 cases) according to the different age.Results: The main age was six to fourteen y ears in the children with cerebral cysticercosis a total of 19 cases( 76 %), of which m ale were 17 cases, the ratio of boys and girls was( 2.1 : 1). Eighteen children patients of them lived in rural areas( 72 %), and had short duration than adults. The m ain age was thirty to fifty years old in the adults, a total of twenty-one cases(70%). Epileps y was the main symptoms in the children, a total of seventeen cases. The second was headache, a tota l of ten cases. There were five cases with intracranial pressure and other sy mptoms were rare. Adults with s eizures were fourteen cases, sixteen cases with headache and dizziness,and other symptoms may also appear. The IHA and ELISA examination of serum and cerebrospinal had a reference meaning,but there were some limitations. There were twenty single lesion cases from the head CT in the children group, accounting for 80%. Paren chymal cysticercosis of the m had seventeen cases, accounting for 68%, and one case was found calcification. W hile there were eight single lesion cases from in the adults group, accoun ting for 26.7%. Parenchymal cysticercosis had sixteen cases, accounting for 68%, and five cases were found cal cification. All the patients were received treatment of Albendazole, pa rt of adjuvant therapy with horm ones and Antiepileptics.Twenty-two cases( 88%) were cured in children group, one case were invalid, two cases were recurrented with seizures. In adult groups: twenty cases( 66.7%) were cured, three cases were invalid, seven cases were recurrented with seizures. Although MRI can find more lesions than CT, every examination had its advantages, respectively.Conclusion: The clinical characteristics of children with cerebral cys ticercosis were in different adult.The school-age children had the high incidence in cerebral cysticercosis, The Children’s patients in rural areas were more than those in c ities and towns, and males we re more than females. Children’s cerebral cysticercosis had a short duration, good prognosis. The epilepsy was a m ain clinical symptoms.subcutaneous nodules were rarely found in children. Parenchymal cysticercosis infections were the most reason in children, mainly was one lesion and rare calcifications. CT and MRI had a great significance in the di agnosis of cerebral cysticercosis. Albendazole was the first choice for insecticide.Cereb ral cysticercosis was required individualized treatment, and prevention was the key.
