Recently, the international and domestic studies have shown that the incidence of invasive fungal infections is on rise.Although currently has a variety of antifungal drugs, the mortality of the disease remains high. Its early diagnosis and treatment is still a challenge.Hence there is an urgent need of a method to improve the efficiency of early diagnosis.G test is now commonly used in clinical. It is a method of detection of fungal cell antigen. It is mainly used to identify whether it is invasive infection. The mechanism is to detect the fungal cell wall components-(1,3)-beta-D glucan which is accounts for more than 50% of the cell wall and widely existed in all kinds of fungal cell wall except in zygomycetes. The sensitivity and specificity of both are good, the inadequacy is which influence the result much, including the material which containing cellulose or glucan, blood products.Furthermore the test has a certain value in the curative of invasive patients. However it can not stop the antifungal treatment only becouse of the experimental finding. The precondition of stoping antifungal treatment must be imaging absorption, aspergillus removed and immune function restored. This artical mainly reviewed the value of G test in invasive fungal infections, including the background, diagnosis, mechanism, the sensitivity and specificity, influence factors, prospect,so as to guide the clinical diagnosis and treatment.
